Weather: Look at this line

We haven't had a good rain in forever around here in the Dallas area. Some areas have water restrictions as a result. It's been raining all day here. Crap. Oh well, more water for the trees, I guess.

 

I find this rather odd. The time Faos posted was today at 08:03 AM (which is MDT, or 10:03 AM EDT). However, if you look at the time on the map, it is today 12:49 PM EDT. Is it the weather prediction or the real time radar reading? Notice it says "current surface" on the top of the map. Something screwed up at the Weather Channel?

 

when the front came through Omaha we got 5 inches of rain and the temp went from 95 to 75, with a low last night of 55. We will be back in the 90`s byt this weekend but its a nice change

 

Maybe because it's the "current surface" and gets refreshed throughout the day.

 

Still it doesn't explain the discrepancy in time.

 

Look at the time now. It changed again. They update the map throughout the day.

 

It still doesn't explain why the timestamp on the original picture looked like it was from the future. Faos posted the pic about an hour or two before the picture said it was created.
