I usually dont wear other teams gear, but I must say that a lot of it has to depend on the team. No way I could ever wear Cardinals gear. That is not even negotiable. Same goes for Spurs, Jazz and Mavericks.

On the otherhand, I do not see the big deal in wearing some other teams gear as long as they are not a rival- ie- bobcats, mariners, etc.

Honestly, I could never see being in a marriage where this would even come up. This the type of thing that would be dealt with before I married anyone. She wouldn't even have to ask. It would be known. I truly don't get some people.

I've ended friendships over a 'friend' who liked another team.

This one girl from Dallas who was really into the Mavs just because she heard they are good. She doesn't really follow sports but is always bragging about that schitt. I just simply couldn't take any more of her stupidity.

I think it's hot when a girl follows sports, but not when it's a real rival to my Houston teams. I especially hate people who don't know anything and wear their team's (non-Rockets) apparel and go "dude, Yao Ming sucks!" I'd fight you to the death.

Imagine how hard it is when you're the same sex so its OK to beat the crap out of them. :( Tough times, but I won't be violent.

Okay, I'll admit it: After the 49ers won the Super Bowl in 1995 (when I was 18), I bought a championship hat and wore it around for like 6 months. God, I'm so ashamed. I'll go sit in the corner now and think about what I did wrong.

    It depends.

A division rival like the Cards?? Absolutely no way. The Astros and the Cards have fought over control of the division title for the past 10 years, roughly. They've met in the NLCS twice in the last 3 seasons. You can't wear Cards gear!!

But in baseball in particular, I think you're safe wearing AL stuff.

In 1986 I spent the summer up in Cape Cod and friends of mine there bought me a Celtics Championship shirt. I wore it once normally and then defaced it.

I bought a Steelers jersey (actually it was a gift but one I requested) because the guy had the same last name as me. I got tired of people thinking, both good and bad, I was a steeler fan. This was around 94-96 when the Oilers were still around, still have the jersey saw it in my drawer this morning, wouldn't wear it though.

    It is never OK period.

The only situation I could imagine would be ok would be say a Houston Fan (Astros-Rockets-Texans) moved to say New York/Baltimore/Boston some AL city in which you of course were 100% loyal to all the teams but because in baseball it is (even with interleague play) a very rare thing to play an "important" game vs an AL team if your an NL team. Still I would never do it.

I could see others doing it, just my .02

Yeah if you think about it, I wouldn't really mind for teams in the AL and such. But not our division. I have a Twins hat that i wear sometimes but no one even knows who the Twins are. (people i know)

    I'm with Meowgi on this.
How could this possibly have not been known/dealt with before marriage?

Ms. Updawgs an aggie, if she wanted aggie crap all over the house it wouldn't be allowed.
Houston sports teams and Longhorn stuff is allowed.
