Because it was his high school number. He wasn't able to wear no. 3 in Toronto because Zan Tabak was wearing no. 3. He wants to change his number maybe because he wants a new beginning. It's a fitting change. He's no longer the #1 player on the team and is content to hang out on the perimeter and shoot 3s because he's too tired to drive to the hoop.
if Trevor wants #1 he should have it. its not like theres someone better than him who wants the number.
Honestly, the crap above (from Dachuda86) is something that is really becoming crap about the board. We have all these posters, who are new, who come out and post things like "who is doc rocket" and "he is a liar" and "clutch is baiting us" and "matt jackson is a poo poo head" Now I understand its frustrating to be told something, and not have it happen, but again, these are credible guys and have been for years. All these new posters generally suck and there naysaying kills and derails threads (see "Remember Me") Thacabbage is someone who I have always enjoyed reading and now adays most of the posts from him are just arguing stupidities from new posters. I guess it comes with popularity. Ill always remember threads like "He is coMING" and that was the golden era of this board.
