The Rockets will play better tomorrow because Tracy won't be out there, but to say they will "win big" against the Hawks is an off-the-wall prediction. A malaise has gripped this team and who can say when they will snap out of it.

I said earlier in the season that more than anyone else on the team, Tracy kills the flow of the offense. He needs to sit for 2-3 weeks and watch the team do OK without him before coming back.

UNLESS he's decided to quit on the Rockets and force a trade because he's upset at the organization. I don't think that can be ruled out.

I forgot that Tracy McNutless is not playing tomorrow. He can't play two games in a row huh? His yeast infecton needs treatment.

    denniscd,

Did you see the thread where the poster known as GOAT basically said his wife works with TMac's wife on a charity committee and that the reason Tmac is moping is he got another girl pregnant?

I don't know if that is true, but he has already done it once, so I would not be shocked if he did it again.

He is not seriously injured, he has had 3 doctors look at his knee and they all said it was fine, just needed work to strengthen it.

There is some game going on between him and management and we the fans are caught in the middle.

Grady is a problem, he has turned into a cancer on the floor.

Agreed. If one has a tumor, one should cut it off instead of letting it grow to affect the whole body. Perhaps Rox Management and coaching staff should seek medical advice.

The Hawks just lost at NJ on a Vince Carter 3-pointer at the buzzer. It was a sweet shot. Maybe they will have a hangover.

After seeing this team tonight, I can't be confident in winning at all. But if these guys have character (and I think they do), they will be pissed about what happened tonight and will seek redemption tomorrow, firing on all cylinders.

Not to harp on Tmac, as he was not the only scapegoat, but it will be better for him and everyone else if he sits out.

dada...didnt see goat's post, but to me some things are better left unsaid. an nba chasing skirt is nothing new.

but the bigger issue is that mcgrady is not playing hard or well.

and they will win big tomorrow night...we will score over 100 and win by 10. also, getting in late will help as they wont party in the ATL tonight.

I pretty much no longer have any doubt now that McGrady is out to destroy Adelman because he hates the system and thinks the guy is destroying his game.

I think sooner rather than later the choice for the Rockets will be clear: fire Adelman and hire a more defensive minded coach that fits the team's personnel/players' abilities OR get rid of T-Mac as soon as possible before he turns into a complete cancer.

I have no doubt now what McGrady is actually 'protesting' with his game is the coaching staff. He want this to be Yao and T-Mac's team, and not just be 'another one of the guys' out there. I predict he will pout and drag it out for as long as needed until the Rockets let coach Adelman go.

I'm trying to hold off taking your position but I'm just about there. It's not the injury. It's not Tracy being distracted. It's not Tracy's lack of physical & mental toughness that is slowing him down.

    It's lack of character.

This is EXACTLY how I read the situation, clearly TMac is pouting about his role under Adelman.

And Adleman is a players coach, it is the stangest thing I have ever seen.

And, honestly, as an organization, I am not sure which they should do.....a motivated Tmac is great, but it is a recipe for a first round exit.

Not sure what the team could get for Tmac now....might be something...who knows....but I am sure of one thing, Morey is not sitting idly by and letting it happen.

I thought that was already a given ;)

McGrady is a baby who needs to be pampered and catered to. JVG was a great politician, he knew exactly how to deal with McGrady's fragile ego, while still motivating him enough for him to at least be a factor in most games. Even when McGrady 'paced' himself in the past, it was NEVER anything close to what he is doing now. Now it is just complete and utter lack of effort, it is not the injury, it is not some affair he might be having, it is just him pouting and forcing the team to 'deal with' whatever is bothering him, which I think is almost definitely about his role as a superstar player on this team, and lack of confidence in what Adelman is trying to do out there. Judging by some other player's comments about the team, I would not be surprised if few other players share his sentiments, although he is clearly the only one forcing the issue here...may be it is because outside of Yao (who would be unwilling to partake in such a charade anyways) he is the only one who can. Either way, it is NOT the injury, it is NOT the alleged affair, it is NOT a slump, it is NOT him aging ten years in six months' time, it is NOT him putting on some weight/not doing a better job at rehabbing, and it is NOT him being disappointed in the talent on the team or being in Houston. The ONLY other logical conclusion -- aided by his comments from time to time -- is that he is dissatisfied with the system/coaching staff and believes it is ill-suited for him and the team.

McGrady wants to get rid of Adelman, plain and simple. I suspected it earlier, but I more or less know it now...

If that is honestly that case, and that is a big if, I would say that Tracy is right.
He's not going about it the right way, but I would have to agree that RA is not capable of leading this team.
I say that it isn't the right way, but when a major superstar has a problem with a coach, is it ever the right way?
Also, some things to take note of:
-I have not heard McGrady make any comments about the coach (he always used to praise Van Gundy)
-The coach almost never talks about Tracy (Van Gundy is still riding his jock strap)

I actually think it's the opposite way around.
As pissed off as we all are right now, history doesn't lie. When McGrady plays in a deferring role, he usually sucks it up. Then, Yao goes down with an injury (happened both years we played Utah in the playoffs) and McGrady because option number one, he goes nuts. You see the McGrady who goes 30-7-6 every single night. He plays with alot of passion and intensity. Then, Yao comes back, and he continues playing the same way, because he knows that it is his team.
The dude has some major "HS girl" emotions going on. He needs to feel he is the most important person and number one guy on the team to be most effective.
Also, historically, he has been a "volume shooter", this season, he's only averaging about 14 shots or something.
As much as I hate making excuses for him (and I am really fed up with it), these could be reasons for his piss poor performances
Again, I think we need a drastic change, and I believe it has to be a coaching change.

well if the team wins tomorrow night in a convincing manner and it will be a tough game, the hawks are really good at home and are coming off a heartbreaker tonight so they will be focused, then you bench tell mcgrady to take the rest of january off period and if front management feels he is in fact 'dogging' it then suspend him without pay. 'conduct detrimental to the team'

heck at this point i am ready to throw my hat in the 'trade him for any borderline 2 guard all-star' ring

I kinda hope that happens. We play an awesome game and everyone on the team ignores Tracy's bull****.

I feel the same way. I posted a thread about him wanting JVG back or just another coach with a better system.
