All that matters are those crucial minutes, regardless of what jumpers he settled for before it was still just a 1pt game.

Yeah, I think we are the opposite of LA, I have to say we have drafted alot of good players over the last 20 years or so.

    Chase Budinger
Nicolas Batum (Donte Greene to Ron Artest)
    Aaron Brooks
    Rudy Gay (Shane Battier)
    Steve Novak
    Luther Head
    Bostjan Nachbar
    Yao Ming
    Richard Jefferson (Eddie Griffin)
    Joel Pryzbilla (Jason Collier)
    Eduardo Najera
    Kenny Thomas (Dan Langhi)
    Michael Dickerson
    Cuttino Mobley
    ......
    Sam Cassell
    Robert Horry
    Popeye Jones (Eric Riley)

Before that it was, Hakeem, Sampson, McCray, Ehlo (drafted by Houston), Murphy, Rudy T, and Hayes

We luckily have GMs who do have a good eye for talent (just don't hold on to it), some teams aren't necessarily good with that or care less about the draft.

He is not a top tier free agent,he isn't even a 2nd tier one. I have nothing against foreign players, nor do I think of him as trash.

The "Rockets screwed over Landry" story is a crock.

First, if the Rockets were not overly cautious with him to start with (which JCDenton calls their first mistake), Landry would have made less money up to this point than he has. The fact is Landry had a disappointing summer league, and the Rockets had to make a decision on him. They thought enough of him to acquire the pick to get him. By giving him a 1 year deal, perhaps that served as incentive for him to get serious. Credit has to go to both Landry and the Rockets organization (including the trainers) for the development he made in his first year. It is said that he added several inches to his vertical in mere months.

In the following summer, the Rockets had every right to make sure Landry's knee was fully healthy before extending an offer. That's not being "classless", that's ensuring you are making a sound investment. Landry had the knee issues in college, and he missed several games in his rookie year with it as well (he was not 100% by the end of the previous season). Actually, when Landry's agent made the charge that the Rockets were purposely trying to sabotage the other offers Landry could get, he insisted that it didn't actually have the effect.

Please!!!!!!!!!!! Do us all a favor and Don't make your 156th post. My IQ just went down reading your post. It's like subjecting yourself to an Episode of Jerry Springer...the longer you watch, the dumber you get. Some of us can't afford to drop any more brain cells or one day soon, we'll be like you. So the next time you get the bright idea to post......JUST SAY NO!!!!!

I agree with some of this, but I'm sure many of the members here would strongly disagree with the OP. Sadly, if you don't let your blind love of the Rockets cloud your reasoning, some of this is true, especially with the firing of JVG. Bonzi and Steve are good examples too. Even the Tmac situation, I think the organization handled it poorly. I usually tend to side with players. And if you notice, everyone who hates Tracy aren't players or former players, they are analysts. The people that hava sided with Tracy are people that have actually played the game.

Very true, they always tend to blow things out of proportion like saying Rockets are better without him when he's was actually the missing piece last year.

The Steve Francis signing limited the Rockets into giving Landry that 1 year rookie deal, also limited what they were able to give Deke for a 1 year deal also. That's how I remember it.

Coaches and their personal issues getting in the way of actually playing guys that can actually bring something to the team,

Van gundy and bonzi were at odds with each other but we could have used his low post scoring as a 3rd option on offense and francis was at odds with Adelman and we could have used his slashing considering rafer couldn't shoot, slash, finish, or make plays.

They both had opportunities to play themselves into the rotation, but they couldn't stay healthy.

Bonzi was out of shape and Francis was out of shape and hurt. I side with the coaches on those two instances.

This thread is 110% true...think about it! Never have the rockets signed a free agent superstar, NEVER!!! And if they did, they were already towards the ends of their careers. ex.(charles barkley, scotti, clyde, bonzi, ron strickland<- , mark jackson) etc. all these players were good when they were young, but for some reason the rockets org. really do think they can win a championship with old ass players. This thread is right, this org. is selfish and very stingy, were so greedy we rather sign a sorry player for wack money and suck balls, than to go over our CAP "LIKE EVERY OTHER NORMAL TEAM DOES IN THE NBA" and contend...Why cant we learn from our good buddy "MARK CUBAN" who i sadly respect alot more after todays trade for butler, i have to give the men props, a player is caught slippin(josh howard) and he makes a move to ship him out, and help his team...Meanwhile the rockets org. are like virgins, wining like a bunch of B****es and terrified to make a move...who cares if its a financial its obvious no other team in the NBA gives a damm but us...sometimes i wondered why we couldnt sign any player we wanted like every other team, but i realized is not the league its the org. pisses me off  freakin jerks, i swear they love to make fans almost blow their heads off, sometimes i wonder if they see the blow outs the fans do...well obviously "NOT"...

How often does a free agent superstar sign with a different team? Its pretty rare, historically.

You get a superstar by being really bad/lucky and drafting one, or by having enough pieces and financial flexibility to trade for one.

Les thinks just cause he got away with it when we had Dream.that it should work like that all the time.we will never win a championship if les doesn't change his ways.it takes at least 3 stars to win in today's nba.and that's not going to happen without going over the cap.Houston is not LA.Good players aren't taking a pay cut to play here.

So I assume when you think of the bulls winning championships you picture Jordan in a Washington unifrom.
