The most depressing element in all this is that Larry Brown was one of the coaches in the running and yet we let him slip through our fingers, look what he did in one season with the Pistons, we have (had) 10x the talent they did, and look at how easy he made it for them to win. The thing is, with Rudy I at least held on to that magically clutch dream that no matter what the game was still within grasp, now if there's six minutes left in the game and we are down by 10 i turn it off. When we had Rudy we could be down 25 with 6 minutes left and I would watch until the last second, a lot of the time we lost, but sometimes we could come back. I miss Mooch hitting the three with no time left on the clock, I miss the clutch aspect.
With JVG being such a contrast to Rudy T, being so pessimistic, so dark, I really feel its hard to see light in the dark. Case in point, If JVG switched with Larry Brown and played the Lakers with that Detroit Pistons team, they would have lost, hands down. His decisions in critical moments are really bad. Case in point, I remember one time in the playoffs last year, when there was little time left in the game and the most intelligent thing to do was to foul and take the shots and we didn't, why? JVG.
In retrospect we traded Rudy T for this guy? How many championships has this guy had? Rudy T has a 34 (how ironic, the curse of 34 strikes again) year tenure with us and we let him go for stupid reasons. It plagues me to see him somewhere else. Les and Daw made it happen, maybe if Rudy T wins a championship with the Lakers that will show this orginization what we could have done. For now, we need to search for someone new, how bout Doc Rivers? Join the Club, now we offer a dental plan!
Also these guys asked to be in the running:

I would have done that. Just the flight of the ball takes off a 1 second. Take another second off for the rebound carom. However, this was on TMac. If JVG had called a timeout, then it would be on JVG. TMac looked like Clyde Drexler on the infamous play in the playoffs.

Instead of using the "Hate" word, couldn't it be more like the:

"I would like to fire the living sht out of JVG Club"

There's just too much hate in the world.:(

why would anyone want to join a pissant I'm right - your wrong I-told-you-so club?

Thats what this pissant clubs about.

once you join this pissant club, you are a rocket fan creeping around in dark garb. you're a walking zombie. you hope for dark days. you will not be able to apperciate the finer moments during the season. if you say you still can, then youre lying. you hate JVG, then you want him to fail, which means the team will fail, which makes this a no good club for pissants.

I actually said this as the play was developing to the person sitting next to me. I kept saying, don't shoot it, just throw it in the air. Even better, just turn around, watch the shot clock on the other end, then roll it down the floor (maybe too risky that one). In either case, I thought it was clear as day...at the very least, shot a 3 and just make sure you hit the rim so it bounces long.

you guys should have blamed van gundy last year. now its too late. most of the fans in these forums are the reason why steve francis is gone. everyone complaing and blamed steve francis for everything. and now franchise'shot selection has improved because of the runninmg game. this van gundy hate club is pretty useless, when you guys brought this upon yourselves.

Well, if we have Mark Cuban instead of Les, I am pretty sure we are going to get a decent PG, a decent PF, some quality benches and GREAT GREAT low round draft picks!!!

So JVG is not really that a big problem, he does not have a bench, he does not have a PG, he does not have a PF, his SF is getting OLD. Now how can he compete?

I did bring this up before the season started LAST year. I said JVG's slow ugly-Knick ball was not going to work in the West and as you can see is the most boring basketball to watch. As much as people in here complained about Rudy's ISO and Steve's turnovers, it was much more exciting to watch than what we are seeing now. I said it last year and I'll say it again this year - JVG can not coach in the West. He doesn't know how to adapt to his players strengths and is the most stubborn person to deal with. His attitude definitely tunes people out and he has the worse time clock management of any NBA coach I've ever seen. I'm sure more people will join the club! :p

I'm glad that we hired JVG last year. Glad that we traded away the drama queens and stone hands. The insane FA market, young season, new team, three key injuries, and tough starting schedule - I'm gonna wait until the end of season to make a call while watching the JVG haters
pluck out their hair because JVG won't get fired in this season. ;)

You are right about one thing.. JVG won't get fired at all this season and probably not next season unless the Rockets don't make the playoffs. But that doesn't mean we can't HATE on him.

The fact that the new Toyota Center is a ghost town, and the Rox can't score 100pts even with YAO and T-MAC, will force Les Alexander to look for a new coach.

YAO and T-MAC and the Toyota Center deserve a championship level coach.

This is for the Poster Boy.

You bunch of sorry ass MF, you would run out of you fox hole just because things aren't going well. The season is still young and you're ready to bale out. People like you don't know what it takes to be a winner, because you're ready to quit when the going gets tought. Remember all this hoop la about "can't wait unit the season starts", Well it started and you are already ready to give up. Just chill out and let the chips fall where they fall.

I'm only in because i don't think he is giving Nachbar the chance to show what he can do when he slashes to the basket.
