Going for Dragic would be like going for broke on winning a title, and that's why we have to do it! Add Okafor as a backup big and you got yourself an incredible rotation m
Resign Smoove + Bev & draft D'Angelo Russell. Depth and prospects for days as we age gracefully like San Antone.
Lowry is the only guy I would want. Better player than Dragon. Bummer that he is doing so well and Toronto won't let him go. Of course Curry, Westbrook, Rose but they are not the best fits. And unavailable as well. Anyone else?
Bev has done fine.....I think the addition of smith made dragic a wet dream.....but a dream is all.we should look at it again before the deadline but no nead to jump the gun. Let this current team mesh and rocket to Mars!
Clutchfans in 2012: We need a star! Morey delivers Harden in the Fall of 2012. Clutchfans in Spring of 2013: We don't want Dwighmare! Morey delivers Howard. Clutchfans in the Summer of 2012: We want Smoove! Morey delivers JSmith two years later. Stop acting like a spoiled kid!
I would love Going next to Harden so don't misunderstand me. With that said, there's people saying Pat isn't qualified to be the starter for a title run with us. Miami did it with Mario Chalmers twice. Lakers with Fisher. Other than that, in recent years, it's been young Rondo, old Kidd, and TP. Pat is hitting 40% on 3s while playing intense D. Harden is happy being the ballhandler. He's at his best when he decides the offense.
He then repeatedly backpedaled to "A young player who can grow into an allstar caliber, a former allstar caliber who can still play at high level......" Those are his words in interviews
Since the definition of star is subjective, I don't think he fits "star" status personally. And I do want Dragic. I feel like that's the last piece to round out the roster. It just feels like destiny. I would move Jones or Motiejunas for him (preferably Jones at this point) and toss in Shved/Johnson/Canaan/Dorsey/picks/whatever works. I agree with everyone who thinks it's time to go all-in. Having a second creator at the PG spot is our last glaring need.
I think Pat is very qualified to be the started for a title run. Pat is, IMO, a great fit next to Harden. My two concerns is that we don't have another playmaker for whenever Harden sits. Bev isn't much of a playmaker, Terry is more of a shooter than a playmaker, and I am really not even sure about Canaan because I haven't seen him enough. And two, I am always just afraid that Bev is going to get hurt because of his nonstop intensity. Having another great PG would help reduce Bev's minutes, decrease his chances of getting hurt while still allowing him to play all out when he is playing.
Right now, I agree that a second creator at PG is our last glaring need. But if we are forced to trade D-Mo, I really don't know if that would be worth it or not. We would then have a glaring need of being too small in our front court. Besides Howard, all of out other bigs (Smith, Jones and Dorsey) would be 6'9. Going up against teams like Memphis (Gasol/Randolph), Portland (Aldridge/Lopez) and San Antonio (Duncan/Splitter), our frontcourt would be just too small, especially if Dwight got into any kind of foul trouble.
...and of course I forgot to mention LAC with Griffin and Jordan. Damn. The Western Conference is so tough
