Does anyone not realise what a distraction it is for us fans to be chanting his name during REAL season games where he is obviously not in the rotation and is a very insignificant impact to the team on the court?

Do you think Steve enjoys his name being chanted and having NOT TO PLAY because of the reality that he is NOT-GOOD-ENOUGH (at the moment at least). Do you think the rest of the Rockets on the court enjoys the Stevie chants instead of proper cheering for the team thats actually playing?

Yes the chanting is humourous and was all in good intention and for small periods might be funny, and heart-warming for Steve but please understand how much of a distraction this causes RA and the team that is in midst of battle. Us fans are making Stevie more into a distraction and liability to the team then an asset that we may / may not use in the future. Please think about it.

The lady is not stupid, she is just UPTIGHT. She probably doesnt understand how to have fun as much as most of us, but I'm sure she knows a thing or two about the Rockets and basketball if she understand why Stevie does not belong to play on the court as of now.

Also, with the people that keep hoping Rafer plays himself out of the rotation so Stevie can take his job, if you want to see the Rockets lose 5-10 games then were supposed to, if you want to see a stagnant 1-on-1 offence, if you want to see the Rockets go back to Y2K Mediocricy. Then why don't you just secretly kill Rafer or something, and then enjoy losing our most stable and intelligent PG option. I don't mind people continue to diss Rafer, because his flaws are way too obvious but learn to appreciate what he BRINGS that is so important to the Rockets, he is the in the Rockets team NOW. I completely understand the great memories that Francis have had on us, but that was in the past and we no longer need his 1 on 1 skills to lead us to a win.

Honestly, outside of the people that hated Rafer since last year, or the people that already hated Mike James, no one expects Steve to take over their spots anytime soon, if ever.

We just wanted to show steve some love, and maybe see him get a minute or two at the end there so he can get a standing O. We cheered our asses off for the rest of the team the previous 42 minutes of the game, and while I think this will be a one time/opening night thing, it was just all in good fun, and to show steve that even though he's not playing right now, that we still appreciate him building the Toyota Center for us...

    Brick by brick...had to :D

I think all coaching decisions should be controlled by an applause meter in the arena. That way the oh so knowledgeable fans could keep the head coach, whether it be JVG or Adelman, from ****ing up the team. Any idiot can see that Rafer Alston has no redeeming values while Stevie Franchise Wink Wonder Totally Awesome Francis can do no wrong. I know the one thing I have missed in the last few years as a Rockets fan is someone that can dribble in circles 30 feet from the basket as the clock winds down before launching a desperation fade away three pointer.

Again, the was the offense when steve was here, he was the focal point. He dribbled because who the hell else could he pass to? Pig Miller? Tito Maddox? Moochie? Hre played on one of the perrenial worst teams in the nba. And what has rafer shown this season? All he has done is prove he is as incompetnant as last year, the only thing he has added to his game is more turnovers. Rafer is TERRIBlE. He is not a starting nba pg, never has been, never will be. Adelman will realize this soon enough and do something about it. Have you notice how much better the team plays when mike james is in as opposed to rafer?

If you guys are true rockets fans and want to see them continue to win, then steve should never leave the bench, cause he sucks and is a cancer. The faster he is off this team, the better the rockets will be before his selfish and cancerous ways infect the locker room atmosphere.

When exactly has he ever been a "cancer." He has done nothing wrong, there is no reason for you to hate on him. You can think he shouldnt play but calling him a "cancer" is not needed because he is no such thing

if u don't like steve as a player, say so. but don't spew dumb things like that. steve does not suck. he's just not fit b/c he didn't play much last yr and just not picking up the system fast enough.

and he's a cancer? i never recount him being a cancer anywhere. though he can be a ball stopper at times, when he was in houston, his teammates and fans LOVED him. he rarely complained when he was in NY.

i want them to win. but i doubt rafer can do that. right now, rafer might be a better fit. but the season is 82 games. francis, if patient, will have a lot of say in who plays.

I honestly think that steve should be getting heads minutes. head has been pretty disappointing. to me it seems that head might be a great PRACTICE player in that he cuts hard and plays hard, but he's just not a great game player. it's the opposite with steve, and that could make a big difference.

You can't be freakin' serious. These were nothing but harmless chants at the end of the game at was suppose to be a blow out. These guys are professionals and I'm positive they've heard worst things said from a crowd like I don't know, maybe booing perhaps? Do you think the Rockets are some immature high schoolers that can't handle POSITIVE chants towards a teammate? These are grown ass men we are talking about.

I'm sure Steve enjoys the love regardless if he plays or not and trust me, his teammates are not at all effected by these chants. Seriously though, this would be the least of their worries. Everyone should be happy that the TC actually sounds like a legitimate arena now. Well, almost.

Players that played with Steve Francis:
    Charles Barkley
    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Snottie Quitten
    Matt Bullard
    Glen Rice
    Mo Taylor
    Kenny Thomas
    David Wesley
    Jim Jackson
    Walt Williams
    Kevin Willis
    Yao Ming
    James Posey
Bostjan Nachbar <- this on is for DaDa
    Scott Padgett
    Eric Piatkowski

Dribbling out the shot clock 30 feet from the basket (which I saw Fancy do more than once) is never the best option on offense. There is a reason that he was traded for nothing twice and paid 30 million bucks not to play by the Blazers, and it isn't because he is an all-star caliber PG.
