Yeah, JVG was the sole reason, right? Give me a break. The Rockets lost to more talented teams.

TMac said JVG was the best coach he ever played for. The players loved him. We are collapsing without him.

At some point you will admit it. ;)

Half of the players in our rotation didn't even play for JVG last season (Bonzi, Francis, James, Scola, Landry). I don't know what you're saying.

Agreed. We 2 are the only people who have hated TMac long before the past few games. I loved him when he came here, lost some respect after games 3 and 4 vs Dallas, and then lost all hope on he and this team after game 7 last year. Substitute Kobe in for TMac last year, even with our ****ty team, and we still would have won it all.

i don't hate tmac. under JVG he was balls out when Yao went down with that leg injury.. he was the only one for a long stretch that kept us alive... yet he seems unmotivated this year... maybe it's the system that the players find hard, maybe it's the hands off attitude.. but even if we are outmatched (and we were not outmatched by the raptors or sixers), last year, we played hard.

i seriously hope no one is entertaining the notion of joining in with this idiot.

JVG is GONE and doing that isnt going to help this team in any way.

No need to be so rude..just a simple opinion would work...

RA does not know how to use the talent he has, Luther needs to be in the mix more, he was so clutch for us in the reg season last year, 4th quarter was always luthers time to shine, Scola would be such a great force under JVG, T-mac would be more motivated, Yao had the best years under JVG, i just dont see why people never understand that DEFENSE wins in the NBA in the end

    EX:
    S.A.
    DETROIT
    MIA
    CLEVELAND

ALL these teams played defense and made it to the finals in recent years...

The only problem is that if we are winning no one will even bother

Yes he is..so might the other majority that have agreed correct? The real idiots are the ones who think Rafer was the problem...well two games without him and we have our two wrost games of the season...you must be blinded by your pride if you think that there isnt a problem with this team right now...we are wasting our superstars prime by being a .500 team...

NO MORE CHANTS AGAINST YOUR CURRENT TEAM!

The "We want Steve" chants were embarrassing enough. It was acceptable when there was a blowout, and scrap time was up for grabs. But to chant contreversy and make the players on the court uncomfortable is just wrong. Those chants are heard by EVERYONE...not just to a select few.

Chanting against your new coach in favor of your old coach is not going to help this team win. It will only make the situation worse.

There's a time and place to express your opinion. And if you want to see the Houston Rockets win, chanting contreversy during games is not the time.

"We want Jeff...We want Steve...We want Brooks...Trade Tmac....Trade Yao," all that crap will cause those being targeted to lose concentration during the game. You want ALL the Rockets focused on the game when that ball is tipped at center court. You DON'T want the players and coaches focusing on the unneccessary pressure created by awkward chants.

chant against the opponent. Don't make Toyota Center a divided home court advantage.

The players and coaches ruin their own chemistry. We fans have no idea what goes on in practice or in the hotel or locker rooms. We fans don't mail in the season, the players do.

I don't know what the right answer is. If you did a archive search of "JVG does not know how to use the talent he has" there would probably be a million posts on the subject. Hell, I was guilty of it. Who knows, maybe the so called "talent" is illusory.

My opinion, I think it would be classless and idiotic to chant "JVG", when only a year ago, there was a "Fire" in front of the "JVG" chant by us fans. Picture the town mob scenes from the Simpsons, that is what we would be acting like

Once again, if you do go out with this, be sure it is at an opportune moment. I would never say this at the Toyota Center, but if we're getting blown out at home in the 4th quarter, and JVG is calling the game for ESPN, then it'd be a good time to do it. Otherwise, shut it, because when fans chanted "put in steve" when the game was very close, that was idiotic more than anything.

We just have too many scrubs on our team and a coach who won't realise that he has limited talent and needs a new way of coaching to get the best out of the scrubs.
He also needs to define Yao Mings role- he is a center who's best attribute is scoring and being big, also remembering that he has limited stamina and should only be used for 36 mins max. :p

I think you're giving less credit to the talent than it deserves. Scola, Wells, James, Battier, McGrady, Yao...Those guys are talented.

The problem is that there's too much control in the players' hands.

-Yao Ming is the best center in the league and is a great passer from the low post...but he doesn't make the right decisions all the time as far as picking a cutter.

-Tracy McGrady is probably THE best passer among the great scorers in the league...but he'll call pick and rolls even when Yao is DOMINATING the opposition down low. He needs to feed Yao the ball when he's on a roll.

-James is a lights out shooter and can create for others...but he's a ballhog who thinks he's a star. He'll jack up shots like nobody's business.

-Scola is one of the best finishers I've seen close to the basket in his young NBA career and EURO career...but he has to get the ball in the high post and is regulated to jumpshots.

-Wells can score at will if he just posts up more...but he takes a lot of jumpshots.

Those guys have talent...they just don't utilize it correctly. Establish Yao down low, get Tmac scoring if Yao's struggling (or visa versa), and post up Scola and Bonzi off the bench.

Another HUGE problem I noticed is that Coach A doesn't even have a set rotation yet. He needs to let them gel. then he can play matchups all he wants.

Like I said in my post above, these are the same arguments we were using last year. "why is Yao at the 3 point line guarding 2 guards", "why doesn't JVG allow Yao to shoot a 15 footer", etc.., etc.. Excuses and more excuses

As a fan, I am slowly coming to the conclusion that we simply overated this team. I do think it is a natural tendancy. We are all homers to some extent. Every start of the season, we look at the opening ESPN power poll and feel slighted if we are not ranked #2 behind San Antonio.

A good majority of us thought that VSPAN would be the savior to all our problems. That he was the missing piece to the puzzle (replaced with Aaron Brooks). People were making comparisons to Nash. Where is VSPAN again?
