see i don't get all this criticism. sure it's not likely to happen, but a guy can dream right? T-Mac is a great player stuck in a losing culture. Two seasons ago he was arguably the best player in the league, people ranked him ahead of kobe because of his desire. I hope he can become one of the greats. T-Mac would really benifit playing alongside a big man. TMac and Yao... wow that'd be nasty. It's like the whole A-Rod in Boston thing. I like to think about it but probably it's not gonna happen.
Ya never know. T-Mac said Yao was a beast. He also said he wished to have a big man like that. Maybe Yao should call up T-Mac and say:" Come to Houston buddy, I'm the beast, and you are the beauty." T-Mac instantly bolts and demands a trade to Houston!
Noone would be so adamant about TMac possibly coming to Houston without the possibility of it happening due the PLAYER OPTION that can be invoked after next season. The fact is TMac is a top 5 guard and a top 10 player. He tasted the playoffs twice, and he wants to get back there. He's not doing it with the Magic since Grant Hill is an invalid. If Steve is the player that he is touted to be by his supporters, then there would be no problem in trading players if Houston adds a couple of other players and takes back some trash contracts besides Grant Hill.
Why do we think that T-Mac is available? If you follow the logic, then you'd think once we endured a four game losing streak we'd be taking offers for Ming, right? Wrong! He is their cornerstone - I just can't see him going anywhere, regardless as to the quantity you put on the table. In the Cornerstone industry: Quality>Quantity. thus, T-Mac > Francis+Mobley+Cato
For one, Tmac is not very happy there and SF is not very happy here. Second, teams do trade their cornerstones away if they are convinced that they have to go through a rebuilding process. Pheonix just traded their cornerstone in Marbury.
