lopez is out for the season they should be looking for a big if they want a playoff push. i dont know what we could get tho?
The funny thing is.. The nets are the team that probably doesn't even care about Asiks' balloon payment next year. The only thing is they have nothing we want.
Really? Usually when people make a thread like this they at least have the decency to include a ridiculous half-baked trade proposal. But you couldn't even be bothered to think this that far through?
The Nets have NO first round picks, nor do they have anybody on their roster with any value, aside from Lopez. They'll be stuck in mediocrity for a long time.
They have no picks and no young talent. They are in win-now mode so it doesn't do them any good to trade a Pierce or a KG, and the rest of their good vets are on terrible contracts. We should keep Asik and trade Greg smith to Brooklyn for Alan Anderson. Greg smith is gonna walk in the offseason anyway.
Obviously money is not an issue, but unfortunately, we are talking about NY here. In order to qualify to a NY players, you have to have to be proven. A few experience, KG, Pierce, Amare, Barg. Asik will not meet the NY standard, too young and not proven.
Good discussion going on in the Dish, but a nice half-baked trade would be Asik + pick for KG + rights to Bogdanovic KG has looked like a shell of his former self, but will give this squad tough minutes at the backup spot and will be a vocal leader. Besides his no-trade clause, there is some concern about the KG-Dwight history. that Euro is a top prospect and NBA ready. If KG retires after this season (plausible), we can package his dead salary along with a pick + Bogdanovich for Love
Teletovic is a good stretch 4. Plumlee might be good someday. Pierce (for Lin and Asik) would be a nice expiring. It would be interesting to see what Morey can do next off-season with 2 stars and the now famous no state income tax. The real problem is the Nets aren't desperate yet. They still have: C: Garnett, Blatche. Plumlee PF: Evans, Kirilenko, Teletovic Blatche and Evans are injury prone and Garnett and Kirilenko are somewhat injury prone as well. Give it time. More centers will go down as the season continues.
I'd rather do Greg Smith and a 2015 2nd round pick for Bogdanovich. Realistically I don't see why Brooklyn would trade KG when they are trying to win now. They need all the front court help they can get with Lopez gone.
What did young talents do to us?.... inexperience. I concur we need talents, picks and some veterans who are not washed up. Especially for the bench
KG has been inefficient all season for them, and Lopez is now out for the rest of the season with an injury. On top of that, Williams has been in and out of the lineup, and Pierce, this year, is definitely not the Pierce of old. Their hopes for winning the 'ship this year is now gone for good.

Exactly this. Without Lopez, the Nets might as well try to move some pieces and rebuild for the future. Bogdanovich is a valuable prospect, but The Nets may like the idea of getting rid of KG's contract + actually owning a 1st rd pick in the near future. People have also thrown around the idea of Paul Pierce and his expiring 15 mill salary. I'd be willing to go either route, as long as we get Bogdanovich back. I have a feeling he could be the "TOR guaranteed lottery pick" we need for Love or someone else
