    I'm ok woth him as a plan B, even A with Durant, but i'm not sure he'll consider us...he said something like "teams which cut me in the past are idiots" few weeks ago.

    The question is: do you trust/have faith in Whiteside's attitude once he has his max contract? Will he be motivated? Or will he just coast? I am leery.

    Same here. His impact today was monstrous, but I hate the idea of giving a max contract to someone that you have to "hope" will be a professional.

    That's the unfortunate side of free agency. If you strike out on the players that are undoubtedly worth the max (that everyone would offer the max to), then you have to overpay to get your guy. Whiteside is likely going to get a huge deal.

    i just get the feeling he'll sign with the first team that offers him the max. Sort of how Lowry re-signed with Toronto while we were chasing bigger fish. a team that comes to him at 12:01 am and says "You're a franchise center and we want to pay you like one" could really get far with a guy who has felt overlooked his entire career.

    Right, and that is why I would rather pay the max to Horford. Part of the needed Rockets culture change is geeting players you know will be accountable. That is Horford.

    Yeah, and even though Rockets aren't saying it (they're saying they need to "shore up the defense"), they need leadership in the worst way out of one of their best players. Harden-Whiteside is risky to me, but I admit his talent is intriguing. I guess it would depend on who else you could get.

    I believe it, but still hard to believe it considering the Rockets had him at Toyota Center for tryouts before and he was with the Vipers.

    There will probably be 5 to 10 teams willing to give him the max this off season. Whiteside is easily worth his max, his presence on defense is unreal, his rebounding is outstanding and his offensive game isn't that bad, he actually has some touch around the rim and a little mid range jumper.

    Would love for the Rockets to get him, is easily take him over Horford or Howard.
