OMG... we drafted Derrick Chievous when we could have gotten Brian Shaw. Then, in 1991 we drafted John Turner instead of Rick Fox. 95' it was Erik Meek or Eric Snow... yeah. The Meek may inherit the Earth, but they don't do jack to win championships. Neither will an Eric Snow, but that's beside the point. We all remember Mirsad over Lewis. Again.. boneheaded. I loved Kenny Thomas from 1999 until he left, but come on... we could have Andrei Kirilenko instead. As bad as it is to talk about the dead, we could have done better than Jason Collier in 2000. Every pick below him is still alive. This one is really going to kill you. In 2001, we drafted Richard Jefferson.. then traded him for one brilliant man they call Eddie Griffin. I think EddieWasSnubbed remembers that year. The truth is, the Rockets were snubbed, bent over and snubbed several times. In 2002 we could have drafted Yao Ming. Wait, we didn't screw that one up. That was a good thing. Maybe these drafter-guys really do know what they're doing?
Well if you ever go to Denny's then DON'T select the steak over the chicken club. The other night I went to the Indian casino until like 4 am and then we decided to hit up Denny's and I decided not to get the chicken club for a change and went with the steak. Big mistake on my part. If I only had the chance to repeat that decision, with 20/20 hindsight, I would have stuck with the chicken club for sure! P.S.: This is a TRUE story. Not trying to be funny. The only useful thing out of this thread was that I got to vent about that bad decision on draft night aka Denny's!
Isn't he a native Houstonian? The Rockets don't draft us. How many NATIVE Houstonians have been drafted by the Rockets?
Im waiting for the semi-annual "We should have drafted Reshard Lewis" thread... Yes.. Should have, Would have, Could have but didnt get over it!!
