Can he play PG? If so I'd like it. With him (and Parsons) our 1-3 rotation should be set. Beverly, Harden, Stephenson, Parsons - maybe add someone like Canaan, Johnson or Daniels. Plus we'd have a great scorer/creater when Harden is on the bench (something only Lin provided when he was on). But as a straight up backup SG he'd be too expensive. Question is how much it'd cost us. He rejected a 40 million contract, so we'd have to pay him something like 12 million a year. That's a lot. He'd have to play starter minutes. Maybe play Parsons at the 4 a bunch - he'd have to bulk up some and would still have problems against the Aldridges and Griffins of the league.
And also trade for Millsap. TE, NOLA draft pick, Moti - maybe that does it. If not another first. Think about this team: Stephenson / Beverly Harden / Stephenson / Daniels Parsons / Harden Millsap / TJones Dwight / FA Looks like a real deep team with 2 stars, 3 almost all star players and two awesome bench players.
That video shows he can pass at a very high level and play within an offensive set well enough to run point with Hardin. If he can contain his antics then I say bring him and a veteran stretch 4 who is taller than 6'9" and resign Parsons. But the biggest thing that video showed was how much better coached the Pacers are than the Rockets. Do you see the spacing? The wide open shots? The game is so much easier when teams play like that.
Yup! Unfortunately, Lance suitors down to Mavs, Pacers and Hornets! Hope he goes to my renewed love for the Hornets, only other team I'm going to follow along with the Rockets.
