To me, i think you assemble the best possible players and let the coach find the best way to play it out. If oyu don't have a dominant player , like the rockets, then you put out very good players that play cohesive as a unit. That does not mean you have to put out a very limited no skill player just for the sake of doing it. Given time and a good general offense, the Rockets could be the prototype to how the nba is played. Even though i like Nachbar, to not add a PROVEN NBA player like Lewis at the right cost would be foolish. Am i for throwing the bank at Lewis? No, but he would be a very good addition to this team. I really like the team and its makeup now especially if we could move some dead contracts,Taylor,Cato or Rice. Hopefully , Francis and Mobley take less shots to the benefit of the team ball. Only time will tell though.

Look, here is the deal. Do you remember Portland the year they got Dale Davis. They had Kemp, Davis, and Wallace at the PF. Now that is just Stupid. All high priced and with the exception of the aging Davis, bad attitudes. All are meant to be starters. None of them want to back up and if they are subs they will be bitter.

We just drafted Nachbar, and I don't give a Fyuc about those of you who think he is not a sure thing - he is. We have a log jam at forward. Nachbar will be cheap. He will be willing to learn the Rockets system and play fifth fiddle to the rest of the Rockets talent.

For the first time in years - We have plenty of talent! Now we just need to get the chemistry down and develop as a team. Lets not go and throw players like RL in the mix who could really screw things up with their demands for money, shots, and glory.

To me, our needs are just not nearly as great at his position as they were at point guard when we obtained Francis. After Sam Cassell and Kenny Smith left, our rotation included guys like Matt Maloney, Brent Price and Bryce Drew. Good grief! There were even Emmanuel Davis and Melvin Booker sightings there and, oh yeah, Randy Livingston. They put Mobley at the point his rookie year because they wanted him on the floor.

We hadn't just drafted a point guard in the middle of a deep first round. We weren't loaded with young talent. Most importantly, we weren't filled up with big salary players including back-ups and guys coming off year-long injuries in the year before the league imposes a luxury tax.

I like Rashard a lot as a player, but I'm just not sold that he is the answer especially if it meant a sign-and-trade. Even if he came for the MCE, we're still talking about having only one two guard on the rosters while we have three small forwards, three power forwards and three centers. Nine guys for 3 positions???

To me, it is mostly about money and immediate need and I just don't think that Lewis fits either of those categories very well.

We have a new Miss Cleo in the house!

I agree with you said Jeff, and I think you could be right, The situation is different. We have a completely different team.

I just mainly thought it was humourous that we were saying the exact same thing 3 yrs earlier, in the same context of a young up and coming star...or good player :d depending on how much you like Lewis lol...well thank you for your insight.

I said that Nachbar is a sure thing because I have seen Nachbar play in several BT games. The dude is sick. He was voted the best under 21 talent in all of Europe. He will be a very solid player. He does it all - shoot, dunk like a muther, rebound, block shots. He plays strong for his size and is quick. He is not that much younger than Lewis. He will be much better for what we need in a SF. If slovenia had made it to the WC then we would all be having a **** fit right now about how good he is just like San Antonio is exited about Scola and Ginobilli.

And Comparing Steve Francis who is a superfreak to Rashard Lewis, who no one even had enough confidence in to draft in the first round, is an absolute joke. Notice how little interest around the league there is about RL. If Francis was on the block 20 teams would be trying to work something out. Cuban tries to sign anything that moves. I don't remember there being a great debate to acquire Steve. I was totally f*&^ing stoked when it happened.

I think you need to learn to read before you open your mouth!

Second there was some debate about francis, I read the freaking posts! I even posted a portion of that post on the thread.

What? Is this what you are talking about when you say you posted a portion of that post on this thread?

And if you are so concerned about people thinking that you are comparing the two then why did you make it the title of your freaking thread!?!?

And I would really like to see the posts that say that we had too many scorers when we acquired Steve Francis. We didn't have Shizzity. Francis became the basis for our rebuilding efforts. The big three was over. We were gasping for breath and thank goodness Steve fell into our lap. And don't give me some dumb crap about how you are not comparing the personel or situation of Steve and Rashard because that is the title of the thread and that is what I am going off of. You can't start a thread and then change its meaning in the middle of the thread. If you want to talk about our need of scorers open a new thread.

We don't need Lewis anymore. The Rockets are already banking on Nachbar at the 3. That is why they are not pursuing Rashard very seriously.

When all is said and done, Rashard will sign with the Sonics. He will take the money and run with it. They are just playing hardball for a little while to see if they can get a few million more out of Seattle.

You are strong, I am weak. You are good looking, I am fairly ugly. You are fast, I am slow. You are rich, I am poor. You are intelligent, I am feebleminded. You have nice teeth, I have no teeth......

I don't know what I was thinking challenging your mightiness. I will skulk back into my cave now.... Your words.... they burn me...

By the way, are you a girl? Your username looks like a girl's. So fine eh? I'd like to see a picture of your fine self. Maybe a butt shot if possible? with a turn to the side?

This is how it will be. Some people just want to believe really bad that he is coming to our team.
