deke isn't going to have the same impact but i wouldn't underestimate his leadership and the good chemistry he creates on the bench. it affects me just watching it on tv, i'm sure it does something for the team. i'd easily rather have him then butler.

Big Jake plays for Olympiacos I believe.

And his name is Iakovos in his profile? Luckily from the EuroLeague web page, they still use Jake, or I may not be able to confirm if the player in Olympiacos web page I found is really him or his brother.

If Jackie Butler was jobless at this moment, we may sign him up to train with Yao.

From what i saw, it looked like that Butler made a conscious desicion that he didn't want to be a Rocket, which is why he played poorly during preseason. I had high hopes for him, seeing that he has been labeled with "potential" for several years. He had a nice offensive game, had a good year with the Knicks two seasons ago, but he just played some very uninspiring basketball when he got on the court.

Looking at Jackie Butler's point of view, he realized that if he did make the team, he would be the third string center on a tight rotation. At his stage in his career he's more interested in getting playing time more than anything else. He already "won" a championship with the Spurs last year while being buried on the bench. And since he's been carrying around the "potential" label for awhile now, winning wouldn't be the first be the first on my mind. Therefore, I think he played his way out of Houston and hoping he would get an opportunity to play somewhere else. But of course, he's nowhere to be found now.

Jackie Butler looked bad in the preseason - getting owned by chumps like Brandon Bass.

    Oh...wait... :(

I did a search at www.euroleague.net and nbdl.com for Jackie Butler and can't find him there. I did a news.google.com to see he if was signed by anybody. Nothing so far. If no NBA team signs him this year, he might just go to Europe for a new career. If Bowen can make it in Europe, then Butler should be able to succeed..

I think it's because they refuse to resign their expensive ones to max contracts that aren't name Dirk.

The Knicks didn't want Butler. The Spurs realised they needed to dump Butler. The Cavs didn't want him. Morey waived him.

Thats why Deke is playing and Butler is not even on a team?

The fact that we waived Butler and kept Deke sums it all up for me...

Who we should have really kept is that "Azibuke" kid. He is lighting it up. I had a feeling about him, but JVG didn't see what I saw. He loved Rafer like RA, a player who I would ship out, much less start. Yes, sometimes fans "are" smarter than the experts. I want Harris back as well. I would have never made the Battier/Gay deal. But of course there are precious few personnel moves that the Rockets have made in the last ten years that make sense to me. I am really convinced that the so called basketball experts are not that good at evaluating talent, and I am serious. Watched the Knicks lately?

Oh it's so obvious, isn't it?

I started from this Olympiakos web page but couldn't find Jake although I recalled he should have joined this team in this summer...

    http://en.olympiakos.gr/sports.aspx?pageType=basketball

Then I went to euroleague.net and found his name from here...

    http://www.euroleague.net/competition/teams/showteam?clubcode=OLY

I went back to the official Olympiakos web page, simply clicked into no. 10 player's link, copied the web address and pasted in my post. Didn't even bother to check the details inside.

Man, I am so embarassed... :(
