who's you? Twack is not the main reason we win games. It's those guys around him. I mean hey, we beat the lakers when he decided to take a nap and score 11 points. The other guys took over
Ironically, that's a great example of how great McGrady is. We win games regardless of how poorly he shoots. That is what a team's best player should do for you when he is truly great because he is your strongest link. He is a well rounded enough player that he impacts the games in other ways, whether with passing, rebounding, or even just being a decoy on the floor. Then you have a guy like Rafer, who is the weakest link. There is a much stronger correlation between when he shoots poorly and when the Rockets lose big games. McGrady can shoot poorly, and we can still win. But if McGrady doesn't play at all, we lose. Look no further than our record sans McGrady over the past four seasons.
I like McGrady a lot, but your logic is flawed. If someone is integral to the success of a team then you might expect that when they have a crappy night the team has a crappy night. Who does that apply to? Rafer, not T-Mac. And there's an alternate explanation for a game like LA: maybe T-Mac didn't actually have much of an impact the rest of the team just picked the ball up and ran with it.
dude you are yet to point out how that is different to Yao If i remember correctly someone didn't show up in the game 7 of a Utah series
how can someone be so great when they shoot like sh**t. Especially at home (seek my sig) Sure the Rockets can "sometimes" beat other teams when twack has a bad night but you expect more from a guy that makes so much money (seek my sig, again)
My logic is not flawed. How else do you explain the relatively weak correlation between McGrady's shooting and the Rockets winning over the past three years, but the very STRONG correlation between McGrady's absence and the Rockets winning during that same time? Obviously, the better McGrady plays, the better off we are. But my point is that he knows how to play the game well enough that he knows how to make a positive impact even when he can't find the basket. There are many, many more one-trick players in the NBA who are only really an asset to your team when their shot is on, or some other part of their game is on. O noez, not the first round argument! Well yeah, you're right, he did. His secret was to play with Kevin Johnson, or Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, and do it in a much less competitive conference. But really, he may be a better player than McGrady. Hell, maybe all the former Rockets you have wet dreams about are better than McGrady. I don't see how that makes McGrady a player not worth supporting. He wants to win, and he does it the best way he knows how come May. It just hasn't been enough... yet.
I'm trying to free your mind, SuperMarioBro. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.
