Kev wouldn't be bad to have as a backup to Ming. Someone who can rest him and bang in the middle. I mentioned trying to get Hakeem back from Toronto because he is doing the same thing over there for Keon Clark. Toronto is going young and Hakeem just doesn't fit over there. Bringing him back home and then backing up Ming, seems like it would fit well in the Rockets lineup.
I love Kev. Just remember how he turned in that all-star performance when Dream went down... That guy hasn't lost a step in ten years... And dang it, he's a great team player too. And if I'm not mistaken, a decent locker room influence...
Kelvin Cato: '99-00: 8.7 pts, 6.0 rebs, 1.9 blks, 24.3 min '01-02: 6.6 pts, 7.0 rebs, 1.3 blks, 25.6 min Where's the improvement again?
That's exactly right, Freak. Cato hasn't done CRAP!! His ass, getting the $$$, sitting on the bench...and doing nothing to contribute to this team! He is such a one-dimensional player...just defense. He's got that, but I don't think he knows what the hell is OFFENSE! I would package him up w/ #15 and try to get someone useful, a good small foward maybe?
Well, he increased his rpg by 1 with an increase of only 1.3 mpg. If you extrapolated that out to 40 mpg, he'd average 18.08 rpg. However, if we use those same numbers to explain & extrapolate the increase in his rpg from the previous year, then we must also use those numbers to explain & extrapolate his ppg & bpg. So,...... ......if we extrapolate (I like that word ) his blocks & points to 40 mpg, we get: -14.4 ppg -5.35 bpg These numbers show that Cato would be scoring more points & blocking more shots for the other team than he does for us now. But hey, he'd be a rebounding machine.
I just had a thought, What if our opions mattered, and the head dudes of the Rockets actually consulted this board before making ANY major desions for this team It would be nice to have a guy like Kareem, Hakeem, or even Moses Malone to come in and help, but to be completely honest I just cant see it happening. Dang it would be nice if what we said really mattered
He played so bad in '00-01 and at the start of last season that his almost mediocre play in the second half fooled people into thinking he was improving.
'00-01: 4.7pts, 4.00rebs, .89blks, 17.8min '01-02: 6.6pts, 7.00rebs, 1.27blks, 25.6min theres your improvement. its funny how you skipped that year. put that on 48 min ratio: '00-01: 12.67 pts, 10.78 rebs, 2.4 blks '01-02: 12.37 pts, 13.12 rebs, 2.43 blks the points and blocks remain the same, but then again kev cant teach what he cant do . what he can do is rebound and thats where we see a big improvement. we all know yao can score and block but we need someone to toughen him up for getting those boards. who better to hit the weight room with than kev?
