Will Conroy supposedly knows our system so he seems like the easy pick. Curtis Stinson is the best defender but worst shooter. I don't think there is any way his game at the rim translates well in the league. I think most of his points and trips to the line are turned into blocks and charges at the next level. Jameson Curry is a scorer/2G convered to PG in the D-league. He is very smooth but had some issues with believing he is better than he is. Maybe his time in the D-League has changed that and taught him something about playing the point. IMO he would be far and away the most like Brooks in terms of shooting off of screens and 3 pointers. He is no where near as fast as Brooks but is much bigger. In college, defense was not his strong point but he was much skinnier then. I believe he is still the leading scorer in North Carolina high school history for what thats worth. He left college as a junior but should have stayed. I think this guy has the most potential but I always figure when you talk about potential the potential for bust is at the same level as the potential for greatness or we wouldn't be talking about potential. I think all of these guys are at least 2" shorter than their listed heights.
Do you have a particular wing in mind? Perhaps Kickin Wing? I know you're not talking about Chase, so who then (between Battier and Ariza)? Or did you mean JT? Come on, fess up.
conroy cant be signed to another 10-day contract after 2 10-day contracts the team must sign him for the rest of the season and doing so would place the rockets above the lux tax again otherwise the team would have kept garrett temple who was much more productive than conroy was. i think lowry has done well the past few games, some bad passes but if he can play like that for the rest of the season we should be ok. hopefully the ankle doesnt get any worse. he hasnt been the same lowry before the injury but he is still good enough. he'll be fine with extended rest. but i wouldnt mind seeing a d-league being called up for caution
because of the luxury tax issue, they're only going to go with 10 day contracts. Since you can only offer 2, and they'll only last 20 days in total..there's no point in offering one right now. They're going to wait until Lowry is actually hurt again and can't play.. that's just the reality due to the cap situation
Wise idea. I wish they didn't let Temple go. Brevin Knight could probably fill in as an emergency PG. He can't shoot, but he sure can pass.
Even if we wanted to wait that long, Corey Fisher is only 6-1. We don't need another munchkin PG. We need a true point with size. Garrett Temple had his deficiencies but one of them was not size. We need a 6-5 or 6-6 pure point who can set the table and shoot well enough to keep defenses honest.
Man, I'd love to sign Curtis Stinson to a 10-day. He's a legend in in the streets of New York. He earned the nickname 'Blue Collar' playing in the parks in Harlem and BK. He can flat-out ball, and he has the type of swagger this team's been missing since the departure of Ron-Ron.
Uhhh... the only one I can name right off the bat is Kidd, maybe Brandon Roy though he plays SG, now. We're in the fringe for the play-offs. If we fell out of it, it would've been better to give Chase minutes than some 10-day D-leaguer who's not in our long-term plans. Our offense doesn't rely on a PG that much, anyway.
what rockets team have you being watching lately, we do rely on a pg for 1/4 of our offense!!! brookss
but he is still the starting pg for the rockets, regardless of your opinion, so it does not matter what he is supposed to be, it matters what he is doing as of now
well, if you played chase at the pg, then yes he is the pg for the line up on the floor!! he cant be the sf if he is playing the pg? right!!!
anwyas the rox are fine, lowry will be okay to go tommorrow, so we do not need a back up pg reserve, what we need is a backup center
My Humble Opinion, but why not play Battier as a backup pg. He supposedly has this high IQ, which is no longer helping him play D, but he could perhaps use to run the court as a floor leader. And he could also play D on the big PGs. For what its worth, it will create more space at the SF position for our other guys
