Walt said that he is so happy to be on a team that doesn't exclusively use him for 3-pointers. He said that he's been working on his footwork and contributes that to his performance last night.

The man has skillz and has smarts. There is a chance that after all these years he finally getting a chance to utilize all that he can offer.

Yet another example of a great team, coach and system. I expect Anderson to blossom much in the same way. Our staff can identify what our guys can add to the team and they have the loyalty and patience to let it develop.

It's so sweet to not be below 500 for the first time in well over a year. Now let's start working on some winning streaks!

From ESPN's NBA frontpage:

THE LIST
Thursday's top scorers

Travis Best, Ind. 30
D. Anderson, S.A. 29
W. Williams, Hou. 28
S. Anderson, Hou. 25
T. Duncan, S.A. 24
G. Robinson, Mil. 24

After 2 games, the Rockets are leading the league in scoring at 106.5.

All the Walt bashers from this summer are going to have to eat a big 'ol slice of humble pie this season.

My god he's even rebounding!

HP - I'd be interested to hear your take on this. Obviously I can't watch the games, but I listen on NBA.com League Pass. And at least 3 times last night Gene and Jim commented on Walts outstanding DEFENSIVE position. I was kind of surprised to hear that.... did you see any of that?

I'm with LilFrancis on this one. 106.5 ppg is nice, but if you don't play D you better be scoring that 106.5 every night is you want to win.

The main area where I have seen improvement from Walt so far is on the defensive end. He must have worked on his footspeed and quickness to the ball b/c his defensive game has been pretty solid. His defense is nothing spectacular, but its not the matador style of old either.

I think the Rockets will be up there for scoring average the whole year, but the question is can they stop anyone.

The Wiz couldn't have been more encouraging last night. Not only did he score consistently and and make his long range shots (we all knew he can do that), but he rebounded and hustled all night long. I had no idea that Walt could be such a well-rounded player.

Rockets allready have plenty of solid guys. I don't think a trade is needed. The only thing left is for Rudy to figure out the best rotation and when to play certain players.. largely depending on how hot they are at the time.. and how they work out with the other teamates.
