Plenty of options in house. Probably no need. If Beal gets bought out and wants to ring chase I am all ears, though.
Rox dont have any capspace now. They will prob bring back Aaron Holiday, Jsean Tate, Jeenathan Williams as depth and then focus on bringing in Reed Sheppard and Cam Whitmore now that Green is gone for that SG slot.
Yes. People are down on him because of his horrendous contract and he was a bad fit on the Suns but the guy can still ball and he would fit nicely on our squad. Brad Beal at or near a vet min contract is way better than some of the other names I’ve seen thrown around such as Ty Jerome and Trent Jr who will both command a decent chunk of change.
no picks next year. Would like to get back in this draft for Cedric Coward. He fills our needs and still does
This is why I'm okay with the trade. Think D-Wade. We're about to find out what Amen can do with the kind of usage Jalen had I still think it would be good to make a move for a backup SG though. The bench needs more shooting. Cam ain't it.
I’d like to see Stone wait till the deadline though and see first what we have with Reed and Cam. I suspect they aren’t ready for prime time yet but it’s worth a shot imo. Plus if we wait till Dec-deadline it’s likely we’ll get a player at a lower cost. A July signing or trade typically is the most expensive time to make a move like that.
Amen is clearly ready, Smith and Eason will be relied upon but have a little ways to go. Reed and Cam will get opportunities but I seriously doubt they will be relied upon to produce for a contender after the acquisition of a to be 37 year old star. I’d be shocked if we didn’t make some FA additions that didn’t force Reed and Whitmore to earn a rotation spot over just being given it. I expect either for Holiday to be brought back, or for us to sign a guy or two like Brogdon, Burks, Dinwiddie, EG as injury depth and insurance Incase Reed and or Cam just aren’t making the needed steps.
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/_/year/2025/position/sg I see Malik Beasley and Ty Jerome getting a big pay day...Gary Trent Jr and Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be cheap signings that pay huge dividends.
I’m sure we’ll get a steady & reliable guard for the bench but I see them really pushing for Reed & Cam. Fred, KD, and maybe even Tari will probably miss time from small injury or resting some b2b. I think they will be relied on pretty heavily outside whoever else we get I think Amen will be pushed as a playmaker with Fred playing more off ball. I could see rockets wanting to figure who can be the better point guard / playmaker between Amen / Reed and seeing what Cam is capable of Depending how Amen / Reeds starting point guard skills develop, I see our backcourt being one of Reed/Amen or Amen/Cam after next season
We should have a general line open for if someone wants to take a Cam + Jock + possibly like our '28 pick for a more vet SG upgrade, but we don't need to force the issue unless a truly great trade comes available. I want to see how the big lineup (FVV/Amen/KD/Bari/Sengun) does while also giving Reed and Cam minutes to see if they can earn them. If they can't, get aggressive at the deadline. But no reason to force it now.
Not a lot of talk on Giddey, but he would fit well in our system. I'd love him at $25 million a year. Question is how much does he want. Chicago seems keen on resigning him.
