It's like calling Ellis clutch for hitting that game winner against us this year even though we all know the dude barely shot .400 for the year. How is it any different?

The birth of Clutch City doesn't lie.
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/uKZLpb4rwi0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A championship doesn't lie either. Him hitting a 3 in John Starks face in game 7 doesn't lie.

You know Robert Horry had horrible regular season stats. His rings don't lie.

You want to talk about Lin? His playoff stats don't lie.

you are a fake Rockets fan, that's not a lie.

Who is we? don't talk about Rockets fans.

We all know what happened in 1994.

Do you even know where the Clutch comes from from Clutchfans?

I definitely wasn't thrilled with what I saw from Lin last year but he definitely showed flashes. Just needs to lock down that 3-pt. shot and be aggressive without turning the ball over. I wouldn't be upset if we traded him for a clear upgrade, but his skill set is pretty unique.

Vernon Maxwell is fire, he was spark that lit the fire that was Clutch City,
when the Rockets were labeled Choke City.

    http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/millennium_index.html

Hakeem Olajuwon helps rename Houston "Clutch City" as the Rockets win two games at Phoenix in the 1994 Western Conference Semifinals. (NBA Photos) 7. (May 13-15, 1994) Two hours after blowing the biggest lead in NBA playoff history, the Rockets flew out of Choke City down 0-2 to the Phoenix Suns. Four days later, the Rockets flew into Clutch City with the series tied 2-2. In Game 1 of the 1994 Western Conference Semifinals, Houston built an 18-point lead but lost. In Game 2, they had a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter but lost in overtime. "I'll never forget getting on the charter flight after Game 2," Rockets television commentator Bill Worrell said. "It was like a morgue." The Rockets didn't rise from the dead until the second half of Game 3 when they found themselves behind 49-41 at halftime. Then Vernon Maxwell got hot, scoring 31 points in the second half as the Rockets won 118-102. Houston finished "Desert Sweep" by winning Game 4, 107-96, to even the series.

Once we add our third star in 2015, I would love to get back Courtney Lee. Great backup SG and could play PG for small stints. Good defender and shooter.

Another possibility, but does he have the handles? I love his defense and ability to stick the J.

Look, don't get me wrong OP, you're well within your right to want Lin gone/whatever, but by listing Lins 'faults' and not putting forward alternative imo came off as a slight. personally I don't like the cap being eaten up but it is what it is, the picture will be clearer by ASG. Just wanted more insight as to other players you wanted, as King1 noted, Mayo is intriguing and cheaper.

Here was what you said you wanted: "I think it is incumbent that we have a guy with size starting who can stick the J, play tenacious D, and handle the rock a little."

    A guy with size: yes.

A guy who can stick the J: No ( 41%fg and 35% three for career)

A guy who can play tenacious D: No

A guy who can handle the rock: No (A lot of TOs for a shooting guard)

The best fit you can think of is a guy who meets 1 of your 4 criteria, and that's size which doesn't matter if he can't play D. So basically a guy who fits none of the criteria.

I agree. It's unfortunate because I think with time Lin can be very good but with the team the way it is now, a championship better be on the horizon. Hopefully Lin can find (or force) a way to maximize his talents on the new Rockets fast but if not, hopefully there is a team where he can and there is a PG out there that can better fit into the lineup.

Yup... Just like Riddick and Adam Morrison, you'll never know until he played in NBA. He's also turn-over prone.

At least Lin's got great vision. How many of his "silly" turnovers came from passing to hands that couldn't grasp the ball? Do you think Howard will have the same problem? Have you seen Harden tire out in the 4th? Probably, it's due to too much playmaking which he should only do from time-to-time and just concentrate on putting the ball in the rim and getting fouled. Harden's not moving so much as a defender after-all so his tiredness must come from something...

    Regarding Canaan:
    http://www.nbadraft.net/players/isaiah-canaan

"Weaknesses: Will be limited by his lack of height, particularly when finishing and defending on the perimeter ... Had a very suspect assist-to-turnover ratio in college ... His lack of good competition downplays his impressive numbers ... Can be foul-prone and his aggressiveness sometimes causes him to commit unnecessary charges ... After dominating the Murray State offense last season, he may have trouble transitioning smoothly to a lesser role when he is on the court in the NBA ... Canaan is much more of a scoring point guard than a distributing point guard, and his assist numbers per 40 minutes were less than impressive (4.3 assists per 40 minutes adjusted) ... Simply lacks NBA-caliber court vision at this stage in his career and has a bit of a shoot-first mentality ... Needs to eliminate turnovers (3.2 per game) and not try to do so much with the ball at the next level, when his teammates will be much more talented ..."

    Does he sounds like Bev?

And also, tinman, I'm getting tired of your ****. Always talking about "OH GUYS LOOK AT ME I'M A 99er!" "THAT MEANS I'M BETTER AND KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ROCKETS THAN YOU!" Nobody ****ing cares that you're a 99er. Just because you are, that doesn't give you the right to disrespect board members by telling them they're not ''real'' a Rockets fan. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting you for living in the past(those days were righteous), I'm just tired of all the **** you cause in this board.

Why is this thread still active? Should have locked it up when OP lost all his credits by saying Jeremy "lacks size".
