I don't really care if this thread gets merged or moved elsewhere, but in my view it deserves its own thread. With that said, we need another clutch performer, and his name is Carmelo Anthony. I hope and pray that we "roll the dice", and pick him up.

I'm a 99'r, but no inside source here. We aren't a lock for the even making the playoffs without a major addition. Even though I think we get into the playoffs with the roster we have, we have a slim to none chance at the WCF with this roster. We can't wait on Yao, and backcourt duo of Brooks and Martin AIN'T NOT NEVER gonna get er done. If you want perennial mediocrity, do nothing or wait till February. Wanna argue now or later? Well, Barkley trade was now and damn near brought us a championship but for John Stockton clutch shooting and poor Maloney defense in that series. Melo has balls, and he's a PROVEN clutch performer.
DD says that Carmelo is an inefficient stat hound, and by insisting on that he fails to grasp that Melo wins games. Steady scoring throughout the year, clutch free throws, and needed scoring in important moments.
I'm just saying, he's clutch. I trust AB with the last shot with the game on the line. He is a clutch performer
But now we get Yao back, Martin has an offseason of practice, Lee adds depth, Budinger and Hill are more experienced. Plus, no more 6'6 center if Yao goes out. Miller is here to run the high post offense, which gives Brooks a chance to play off the ball and become a scorer
You cannot count on Yao. Not with rookie minutes. And what do you think that you're going to get out of Miller at his age? Depth is great (Lee, Budinger, Hill), but Melo is more important to our success than you are willing to admit (no offense intended).
