Derrick Sanders is a wrestler. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_o-TLdh3sdI&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_o-TLdh3sdI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
The knee-jerk reaction isn't because you think he will be a good player, obviously you've been watching this dude play a lot already. Its because you think the Rockets made a mistake, and should have picked him instead of PP. "Miss the boat: 1) to miss out (on something); to be ignorant (of something) 2) to have made an error; to be wrong" We only had one lottery pick, and Sanders was picked directly after PP. How else could the Rockets have missed the boat except by picking PP over Sanders? How you think saying that Sanders will have a better career than PP after just two games isn't a knee-jerk reaction is beyond me. Its summer league for crying' out loud. Let's wait before the season starts before judging whether one rookie will be a better player than the other.
Larry Sanders has been starting at center with Bogut and Gooden out. Tonight @Denver he had 14pts 10reb on 50% shooting with 8blks and 2 steals in 33min.
Good call old man rock, you might be on to something. I think it would be unfair to Patterson to make this judgement at the moment, though...
Patterson was the safe pick and Sanders was the risk pick. They had a chance for a home run and instead took a singles hitter.
Was just about to search for this thread and sure enough it's at the top. Looking at the box scores of yesterday's games, I just couldn't help but notice how good he played. 8 blocks?!? Geez, I hope we didn't "miss the boat" on this one
And 0 turnovers...It was his two blocks on Melo that led to technicals as well. Looks like the Rockets definitely missed the boat with Sanders. Props to Old Man Rock.
Just picked Sanders up on my fantasy league team last week. This guy is a monster. Imagine Larry Sanders 6-11 and Jordan Hill 6-10 protecting the rim and running the break w/ Lowry or Ish. Man, I hope Morey proves us wrong w/ Patterson. It sure doesn't look like it.
I was hoping the Rockets would steal him from the Bucks when we were up to draft but they picked Pat instead. Sanders is gonna make teams pay for passing on him. Morey's gonna eat it later.
Looks like someone didn't read my post. "Let's wait a bit before deciding whether one rookie is gonna better than the other". As to PP I still can't comment because he has only had 0 PT for the season. Props indeed to OMR for pulling Sanders' boat, looks like it was well deserved.
Too soon to say anything. If Patterson can't get playing time, I doubt Sanders would on this team too. We already have one athletic young dude with potential, after all, and he was drafted higher then Sanders.
+1 on the "vision of a moronic cretin vomiting" roslolian, u sound like you prefer to shoot down other ppl's posts more than stating your opinions for discussion. be more funny n laid back please
The Bucks are 1-6 when Sanders plays 9+ minutes and 5-6 when he plays less than 9 minutes. The Rockets have never lost a game that Patterson has played in.
8 blocks are certainly a big exclamation mark. What was Cato's high in blocks during his rookie year? Looked it up: 8 blocks. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/catoke01/gamelog/1998/ Not saying Sanders cannot be much better, but too early to say if Patterson or Sanders will turn out better.
