I'm going to disagree with you about Durant. They're just making him do something he would have struggled with at any juncture of his career. He's never had to iso for himself repeatedly into a very crowded paint. E.g. Jokic is an all time great but if you put him in the position of bringing the ball up every play and driving into a crowded paint, you'd see his turnovers go up and his efficiency drop down. That doesn't mean he declined or he doesn't have a handle that's elite for the type of player that guards him. We have to set him up like you would Kawhi for example. Then you have to force the other team to guard him with the 4/5. Right now what's stopping that is any PF can guard Jabari so elite wings are glued to Durant. Just a really silly thing to do. Durant's most effective minutes were at C last season. Age 36 is not the time to force him into a SG role. We should be making life as easy as possible for him so that everyone benefits from his gravity.
We need a PG, with Amen going back to what he does best. That other PG needs to be able to hold his own defensively. Also, DFS needs to get healthy and out there Tari, either dealt, or somehow staying on the court.
Sorry but this is such a stretch I have to address it. Jalen's PPP on drives was better than Amen and on top of that he was doing it against double teams quite often with 2-3 non-shooters on the floor. That's not the same as Amen being a hair below in efficiency against one sagging defender and with 0 or 1 non-shooter on the floor. More importantly, Jalen was not good enough at this and Amen needs to have higher standards than that. Sengun and Durant are drawing double teams. We dumped Green for not being good enough and had him take everyone's 3PA for them (making almost league average at 9 attempts). Amen can't shoot so all the offensive value he can bring is on drives. Ime has to start treating him like a future star if he believes in him and Amen has to step up too. If we're out here comparing him to the guy we dumped, we've lowered our standards.
