He better. He's only gonna be 28 when this 3-year deal of his expires. He'd be in line for another huge payday(and likely his last) provided he lives up to the value of his current contract. Not to mention the heat he'll receive from the fans and his teammates if he half-asses it out there won't be pleasant.
People are stupid! We get the Pelicans first rd pick for Asik - which is an attractive asset.... Lin was gonna have negative value for the duration of his contract - we were gonna pay to get him off the books, regardless... Chandler ain't gone yet and we may retain him.... how is that "losing 3 players for nothng..." ....smh
Yea when I met him he was really laid back but Patterson called my cousin and talked to him because my cousin was a fan. That seemed like a good group of guys who were really close.
Since N.O. still doesn't have the cap to take Asik, can't Rockets take the offer of Asik off the table and re-propose to Pelicans a straight up Asik for Anderson?
Some people can't stand the fact that Lin simply dared to stay in the league, even after the circus of Linsanity ended. Whether his salary was $15 million, $8.3 million, or $5 million, they would've complained.
Morey took a risk to try to build a super team. Super teams have won titles (Big three Celtics, Heat). He bet on Rocket Red, it landed on Heat black. Bad luck this roll, but not bad GM'ing.
The Asik trade isn't completed . I haven't heard any media outlet saying it has been done. The Rockets should pull the trade now.
-We have 2 stars and not much of a supporting cast. (PBev is not all that he was hyped up to be and TJones is still developing). -We still have our crappy coach -We gutted our team in hopes of landing a 3rd star and got nothing. -This is like NY gutting their team for Lebron and landing Melo. (NY actually had a good supporting cast before they did this except they actually landed someone). -They got Melo paired with Amare. 2 stars at the time. It's exactly like the NYK. Hardly an exaggeration.
Only one organization would give him that kind of price. THAT IS NOT a market price. I bet you Cuban knew it wasn't even a market price lol. He did this in order to hurt the Rockets.
Without Lin, Asik and Parsons...this Rockets team would not be better than last year. As much as people don't appreciate what these guys bring...they fit into the system and play their role and contribute significantly to winning. I doubt the Rockets can win as much as they did last year. Their bench is now pretty weak and they're still longing for somebody who can stop Lamarcus Aldridge, Dirk, Zach, Griffin.
