The best backup in the league is not worth $15M. It is arguable if he was worth $8M as a backup. We didn't lose him for nothing. We gained cap space at the very least. Does it suck that we lost out on Bosh? Yes! Does that make losing Lin a loss, not really. On-Topic: Asik was gone anyways. At least we get an amazing draft pick for him. Parsons was going to get paid. Everyone knew that. Lin we have been trying to dump off since we signed him.
agree on Parsons, but redundant is a little strong, aside from being pieces of the team that right now aren't being replaced they also represent the famed 'cap space' which we are going to use on what... ohhh hang on overpay the player we could have signed without it......
+1 its always wait till whenever with this guy. Guess what, Dwight's got an opt out in 2 years. Think he won't hesitate to do it if all he sees are Harden and CP on the team?
We haven't lost anyone yet, all trades are still open, well cept Lin, but that was never a loss haha.
match parsons we still get our starting 5 back but lost our backup c (who doesn't want to be here anyway) do we get trade exception for all the trade?
Some of these fellow posters have to get over their bitterness. They had no problem overpaying for Bosh....but once Miami decided to overpay him by even more they got mad!!! People here went off on the big 3....but Bosh leaving a sinking ship to join another super team in the making would've been just fine this time around!!! Dude's took a pay cut for 4 years. HE should go out and get his. He's never going to be an all-time player, has no legacy to play for, he already has rings. HE doesnt care about playing in his home state....what does Houston have to offer?
Can somebody please explain to me the CBA guidelines, if any, associated with reneging on a trade that both parties agreed to in principle and in good faith? Is it actually possible for one of the teams to back away from the deal and leave the other team hanging? Wouldn't other GMs and potential trading partners think twice about dealing with Morey if he reneged on the Asik/Lin trades, even if they haven't yet been finalized? If so, that doesn't seem like good business to me.
But matching Parsons kills any chance of signing a max player in 2015...unless they ship him off after one year.
LOL come on.......people around here want to blame Bosh for his verbal commitment (if he even made one).....now we want take-backs and do overs??
Imagine if we had traded jones, dmo and canaan in those deals... I'd be pissed. Lmao. I'm good now though. Don't care about bosh or parsons.
Morey needs to hit the gym and get in fighting form again. He's gotten soft and fat after the H&H deals.
Can we revoke the trade with LA? we need that contract back in order to resign Parsons. It is needed to maintain the usage of MLE/etc. Have to operate above the cap so trading lin in Feb is better at this point.
YES! A better more intelligent BBS now that all his jock riding r****d LOF's will be going to the LA boards. Talk about some dumb ass waste of server space mindless minions. They will fit I. Good with LA fans. Good riddance. Sayonara.
Lin - yes but losing 1st round Asik - draft pick Chandler - maybe but then you're taking on his huge contract that he doesn't deserve and eating your cap. On the side note, I bet Harden and Dwight are like...wtf just happened..why aren't free agents want to play with us?? We're DA BEST lol.
first player in 26 years? you mean rockets only? i'm pretty sure sixers backup pg wrotten got a triple doubles against the rockets
Lin had no future with the Rockets. I would protect cap space over matching Parsons. Asik, I would think twice now over letting go. Wait till the trade deadline to get a better deal. It's ok. We'll be ok. We'll get someone better than Bosh and Parsons eventually. It's now gonna be open season for the likes of the Spurs and Thunder, with the shift of power in the NBA.
