Sadly I believe your statement to be true. Damn I can't believe how much I looked forward to this season.
Although you must admit, its a pretty interesting that the guys we decided to let go the past few years are now very solid contributors like Bogans, Boki, and Azubuki on the Warriors.
No they're not. They had 3 of that last year and went out in the first round. They "need" what they've needed for 4 years...athletes who can/will force transition tempo and drive to the basket instead of settling for jumpers.
Bogans is no longer shooting the ball like he was the first few games. He is back on Earth now. Before tonight, he's been shooting 3s at probably <30% the last several games. Boki hadn't grown up when he was a Rocket; same for Azubuki who wasn't even on our roster. If you want to debate whether JVG was a bad GM, no argument here. You have to admit that Shane, Luther, MJ and Rafer all shot better under JVG than this season.
Exactly... which is why I prefaced it with the fact that you'd be getting less than fair value for him. Which is why I'd rather they have a coach/team in place that can both keep him motivated/optimistic, and win a few games. We know it doesn't take much... see last year. I wouldn't have even made this thread if not for how important T-mac is to this team... Yao and this band of misfits would still be one of the bottom 5-6 teams in the league (but ironically, a motivated T-mac and this crew would do just as well, if not better, than the team last year that survived without Yao).
I did succeed once to return a damaged goods back to Sears. Morey should hire me as Rockets consultant.
couldn't agree more. being there in person, seeing it up close made me want to hide in an oven. i've tried to be patient, understanding, stay the course, optimistic..... tracy owes me 351 dollars as far as i see it
Uhhh…the player that this thread is about. Mcgrady. He’s taken this team as far as it can go with this cast of role players, and I don’t see any other viable way to significantly improve the team enough to turn us into contenders.
Battier, Luther, and Mike James all shoot over 40% last year. I don't think it's a coincident that they all failed at the same time. IMO, everyone is having a very hard time to adapt to Adelman's system. It just like 14 employees (except Bonzi) who all failed to understand what their boss want. In this situation, do you blamn the boss? Or the employees?
Trade for one of his best friends? Mike Miller..... Battier/Head/Snyder for Miller/Warrick Just an idea though....
