I'm certainly hoping one day Green will be as good or better than Corey Brewer, but it's possible it won't happen.
You're not really saying anything, all scenarios it can happen or it wont happen. Cade could wake up and grow and third leg tom, but its also possible it wont happen. Point is its a joke to compare Green to Corey Brewer and you know it. Stop being such a hater. Otherwise put your money where your mouth is.
Green has 1 fluke hot shooting game, KPJ has several legitimately good games and he's currently the more skilled player on both ends of the court. Stick to making excuses for why Green sucks and drop the attempts to drag superior players.
It's not a joke, they are very comparable.... there was a reason Brewer was a to 10 pick. He never lived up to his hype, will Green? We don't know but this far he's been terrible
Porter has regressed from last year and he is not a PG. i do not understand this guy, everytime he score we celebrates and then we forget his defense responsibilities on the other end......he argue with the REF, his head goes down and he forget his defense responsibilities. I know Coach Silas see this but I guess scared to tell him about this. I tell you this guy would not make it under Gundy being the head coach.
This thread is stupid, people just don't want KPJ taking away Green's chance to shine. Let both develop, and wouldn't it be awesome if they both are here for a long time playing as a 1-2 punch. DD
Brewer entered the league at age 21 and averaged 5 pts on 35% FG. How d hell is that comparable to Green who is only 19 yrs old? By this far you meant 10 games? So lemme guess Harden was a joke to you right? He entered the league 20 yrs old and scored 9 pts on 40% FG. Is he Corey Brewer too? Lol stop being such a hater.
Yeah agree. Both Green and KPj are big guards theres no reason to choose one over the other. Today is the era of positionless basketball. The reality is people just want to complain.
After last nights game of Green AND Porter(~16 minutes) : +9.7 Green NO Porter(~15 minutes) : -68.3 Porter NO Green(~14 minutes) : +10.3 The season long numbers are Green AND Porter(~304 minutes) : -10.3 Green NO Porter(~88 minutes) : -30.0 Porter NO Green(~75 minutes) +7.9 As individually poor as Porter appears to be statistically, the team is playing better with him on the floor. And as similarly poor as Green appears to be compared to Porter statistically, the team seems to just be awful with him out there.
Thanks for posting this, very interesting. KPJ having a positive net rating without Green on the floor is really interesting and a bit surprising to me, just from watching the games I would have guessed it was negative. Better than with Green, but still would've thought negative. This made me curious, so I looked up the on/off numbers for the whole team and that told a similar story: Houston Rockets with Jalen Green on the floor: -15.5 NET RTG (391 minutes) Houston rockets without Jalen Green on the floor: +7.3 NET RTG (185 minutes) So this team, without Jalen is actually not even that bad. Again, I would have guessed negative (but better) net rating without Jalen on the floor, very surprised to see that it's positive.
That is among the most ridiculous statements I've read here. Green only has a tiny number of games in the NBA. KPJ has 88. Literally 900% more games. Your comparison is actually a indictment of KPJ - i.e. a few good games in 88 games? Seriously?????
He said several...YOU said a few. In truth, half of KPjr's 27 games last year were "good" - real good/kickass This year, he's being jammed into learning the PG position with Green next to him. It's changed the dynamics out there. JG doesn't play off the ball/needs it in his hands...and has been awful...not close to ready yet. This is a team of teens and vets...kids without a clue, and guys about to be moved...Multiple agendas...semi organized chaos. Keep this in mind when assessing the situation.
Omg... Few and several have the same meaning dude and your post is just plain false. Here are KPJ's advanced stats over 3 seasons: (he hurts offensively, defensively and as part of a group all 3 seasons) 1st of all he did indeed play PG last year 30% of the time and SG 59% of the time. His Oncourt was a whopping -13. This means when he gets a lot of minutes - the team loses. This year he is -7.0 with 98% at PG. Your assertion he helped the team 50% of the time last year is just comically wrong.
KPJ has a few good games THIS season, Green has one fluke hot shooting game and he's been trash in every other game this season. KPJ is still developing, and he keeps making progress on both sides of the ball. Green is at least a few years away from being an NBA caliber player.
But he was just an overall mediocre combo guard last year that got a bunch of GARM buzz because of a 50 pt outburst. While it would be stupid to "get rid of KPJ" this season, I wouldn't be getting my hopes he's a long term Rocket.
Remember, we had Wall & Oladipo jacking up shots/interfering with KPjr..no flow...Wood was hurt...the team was a different kind of hot mess... It wasn't just a 50 pt game...Look back on the rest of those games (not just numerous really impressive stat lines)...amidst that chaos...look back at all the flashes of promise....even possible greatness one day. Now, we're trying to get him to learn the toughest position on the court...with a teenage backcourt partner that wouldn't be playing, much less starting if he wasn't the second pick..on the court with vets that will definitely be gone...and kids...different agendas. Keep in mind, he's only 21...playing out of position.....and, getting a handle on all his personal stuff. (he's top 5 lottery talent) I'm proud of Kevin. He's handling his end so far. It would be wise to keep things in perspective, and not write this kid off.
You’re right, but we will pick up his team option for next year then it’s a question. KPJ needs to play with vets and Green needs a more competent point guard. I agree if the Rockets are prioritizing KPJ for this year, but beyond?
