Since we don't have a Whataburger in Los Angeles (or San Francisco), do I qualify since I love Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and Beeps (greatest Philly Steaks outisde of Philly)! But in all seriousness, I can't ****ing wait for the season! We should have been on national tv on opening night! Now I have to scavenge online for a link to the game! And the season is definitely going to screw up my school work!
For me it's "We have Ron Artest, Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming." I can't wait to watch a replay of last season's team spirit with the addition of a third star.
tinman, I know you are smarter than your posts look. But this is the dumbest thing I've seen you post. BTW, what does Dream have to do with the hood?
After dealing with softies like yao and tracy, ron will bring that edge that gritt that toughness that might be the tilting factor that might put us over the hump. if kirilenko goes for another flop, i'm sure ron will make sure he wont get up behind the play. he'll do it in a way that the umpiers wont notice it.
I used to go to that Whataburger all the time late night (until I moved out of Houston). As for the government-controlled fan thing, I lived in China for six years. First of all, on the streets China's freer than here. Second, Americans are just as mind-controlled as anyone else, because they are the most wired in to crap media. The Wall Street bail out panic, the Iraq war WMD panic? These were frenzies manufactured almost overnight by the US government. And how much are we "free" to do, anyway? Put up anti-government websites? That's only because they don't mean a thing. Pose a serious threat to the US government and it will go Waco on you. If the Chinese are government robots, we are American Idol robots, which may be worse.
I am glad to have Ron, too, but McGrady and Yao have done the Rockets proud. They are just as real and they have never embarrassed themselves and the league like Artest did in Detroit. I would also say that representin' "hip hop" in 2008 (in the NBA no less!) is like representin' the polio vaccine. I mean, c'mon, it's been *the* dominant cultural force for nearly 30 years.
Roscoe's rocks. And Whataburger isn't NEARLY as good as In 'n' Out. But try getting decent boiled crawfish out here and you'll be S.O.L.
As long as he doesn't cry and go fishing in the playoffs, I'm fine. He's trying to be well rounded. He's what if Ricky in Boyz N the Hood made it. Tupac listens to the Cranberries, but does that make him less of a hood hero? no.
Dream is from Nigeria. That's represents all the Nigerians in the hood. Houston has lots of Nigerians.
Its propaganda that people who never saw Ralph Sampson play are dissing him because I know Ralph was a tougher player. whatever government fed this information that Yao was tough and Ralph Sampson was not tough is an evil government. Cause I can't see any educated Rocket fan who knows the history to say that Yao is a tough player when he's getting out rebounded by people one foot shorter than him, then on top of that these Rocket fans dis on of those Rocket legends who was awesome enough to help us get to Finals. This has to be a Government, not China.. but the country of Yaoonlyistan Its a country where all the people worship Yao and think he's some superhero and that he's the Dream and he's tougher than Yao and its never his fault. Do you belong to Yaoonlyistan?
this video is censored in Yaoonlyistan and in Orlando, TX. Because in Yaoonlyistan, he can do no wrong and Ralph Sampson never took the Rockets to the Finals. Because in Orlando, TX. They only care about stats and not wins.
People who worships Yao Ming and thinks he is better than Hakeem and/or Ralph are completely out of his mind. Such fans do exist but they are certainly in the minority which is not large enough to constitute a country of "Yaoonlyistan". It's roughly the same population who thinks T-Mac is better than Kobe. I bet >90% of Rockets fans, or Yao fans, or basketball fans from China knows the FACT that Hakeem and Ralph are both far more superior than Yao as a basketball player, in terms of career achievement, skills, mental toughness, athleticism, anything. Just because ONE (for crying out loud) random poster was dumb enough to claim that Yao was tougher than Ralph doesn't automatically mean a) that guy is from China or is "government-controlled", even in a figurative way and b) there is a large community of fans who think the same way. I have to say that you just have the tendency to be over-sensitive and look for ways to stereotype fans that were not originated from or reside in Houston as aliens. First you stereotyped ALL of them as Dream-haters, and now you say they can't even think reasonably and individually. I am from Hong Kong and I have been an NBA fan since 1998. I became a Rockets fan in 1999 when I was fascinated by the talent of a young rookie named Steve Francis. I witnessed the forced retirement of Barkley, Yao Ming's draft, T-Mac trade and so on. Was I a Rockets fan during the championship years? Nope. Am I a more knowledgeable than you about Hakeem's Rockets? Probably not. But I enjoy exploring the history of the team and watch how Hakeem dominated David Robinson, how he beat Ewing and O'neal in the Finals. I understand it's the ultimate pride for the city of Houston and the TRUE Rockets fans, which I believe I am one of them too. Am I a Yao-only fan? A definite no. I think any trade that makes the team better is a good trade. If you give me Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire, I will possibly think about trading Yao. If you give me Kobe or Lebron, I will give you anybody on this team, T-Mac and Ron Artest included. My point is that the country of "Yaoonlynistan" does NOT exist. They are just a bunch of ignorant people who constitutes 0.1% of the Rockets fans population. So why do you want to make such a big deal out of this? Your concept of segregating people who think differently from you as aliens is offensive at times. It's like "oh you are new here and you talked **** about Ralph, those newbies from some exotic countries must be government-controlled". Isn't it analgous to some Islamic extremists who think "oh some Americans kill our people, they must be ALL demons"? Or alternatively, "oh some black guys dissed the national anthem, perhaps all of them are unpatriotic"? Isn't it ridiculous? I love clutchfans forum because it is a great platform for Rockets fans to exchange ideas with each other. It's also enjoyable to understand more about Rockets history and Houston's pride dating back to the Hakeem days from veteran fans like you. Why don't we enjoy watching the Rockets together and treat all the posters as individuals, not part of a certain community or "country"? That's all I am asking for.
