I rather have paid him zero so we have cap space next year. This team w/ no tmac or yao is going nowhere.
Good point. I hope Morey has a plan, because I just don't see it. This reason alone makes me think that a big trade is coming, because free agency can NOT fix this team IMO...
forgot we paid Trevor to perform in the preseason... Things will iron out. He will be a great asset for us. If you are this emotional about the preseason, you just need to calm down... You come across as crazy, not diehard...
Why is any comment made during the preseason flamed for overreacting? Could it just be that the person has an opinon and happens to be voicing it whilst the preseason is taking place?
Holy moly, usually this thread is reserved for a playoff game. Guys, the playoffs are over, this is PRE-SEASON!!!! People are seriously freaking out over a pre-season game? Pre-season? Seriously? It's like worrying about a pitcher giving up 7 runs in spring training. Gotta chill man. Don't judge until the regular season starts. These games really are meaningless.
because he didn't over pay for Ron... Ron would have never signed with us for the MLE once Yao was out for the year (I don't think he would have signed even if Yao was healthy)
because you are baselining the season success on these preseason games and speaking as if you are absolute these things are going to happen...
Come on, anyone with half a clue knew that he was a newer/younger version of Battier....nothing more. DD
well morey did say if he can replicate what he did last season, he is worth the MLE, so basically anything extra is bonus
Again??? Have you haters been waiting three years to come out of your caves to bash the Rockets for Morey's first slip-up, or are you going to start bringing up the Steve Francis and Brent Barry FA signings as further evidence of the front office's mishaps? Just do us all a favor and go home. There's nothing to see here. Go on an Astros or Texans message board if you just wanna b****. And as for Ariza, he hasn't done great so far this pre-season, but neither have any of our players really. My opinion is that for his salary he will end up being an asset no matter what his stat-line says. Essentially another Battier once he studies with Battier about team defense long enough (oh and I KNOW you haters are just waiting to pounce on Battier for Gay. Don't even start).
It's the manner of delivery mostly. "We got screwed" is very debatable at this point. "We got screwed in a BIG BIG way" is pretty overboard.
The current trajectory I see us heading toward is mediocrity. You either suck real bad and get a draft pick or you clear a bunch of cap space and get a superstar. If you don't do one of those two things you end up like the new jersey nets or detroit pistons. Either you will sneak into the playoffs as a low seed or just miss it and get high teens lottery pick.
