I have been telling people for a while that God is a flaming homosexual. I mean even Christians insist that he is the ultimate designer.
iirc, there is some precendent for people suing when personal information was shared over the internet in a manner which intended harm.
Yeah....sure, cause all Texas A&M students and graduates think the same way as these bigots.....yeah..... And who's shallow here?
very well said. nice post! i can't imagine disassociating myself from someone or treating someone disrespectfully because you believe they sin. that's intensely hypocritical from those who claim a faith that sees salvation as a gift that isn't earned.
What is your relief if there is no harm? Get them to take your info off their website? If there is a cause, I don't see the point to sue just yet unless you can get money.
While I personally have no clue why anyone even cares what gay people do with their lives, this is not an issue about gay marriage since it is illegal in Texas. This is about a business owner discriminating against someone because of his sexual preference. Whether they agree with the legalization of gay marriage is irrelevant. I know people who oppose gay marriage but don't oppose homosexuality. The two are not mutually exclusive. The folks at this business have every right to deny service to whomever they want for whatever reasons they can conjour no matter how moronic it looks to the average person. By the same token, those who disagree with their stance have every right to publicize their displeasure.
Not suing the website, but track down the dolt who posted the personal info and TDL's. They clearly intended harm by doing so and I believe there is precendent there.
Has anybody read the post from Todd Farber's gay lover? http://216.30.130.70/cgi-bin/yabb/gardenguy/YaBB.cgi?board=rose;action=display;num=1161359826 bwahahahahaha!!
Is it legal to deny service to someone based on race or religion? I honestly don't know. I do know that it is illegal to deny employment or housing based on race or religion but that it is legal to deny the same things according to sexual orientation.
I would imagine if its your business, you can deny service, but you have to suffer the consequences...I mean, doing something like this would increase business to those who feel the same way and decrease those who think its insensitvie... I myself would never recommend them, but that's just me...
There was something a while back about a restaurant in Philadelphia I think that wouldn't serve non-English speaking people. I don't think it's illegal, but if you don't like their practices then don't support them. If they want to lose out on potential customers that's their problem.
Non-English speakers are not a race. I'm just curious as to whether or not someone has a legal remedy for being denied service on account of race or religion (as the threatened lawsuit in the Chris Rock's mother thread implies) and whether or not this is one more case of discrimination of gays being okay while discrimination of, say, blacks or Jews is not.
I get what you're saying too and I recognize that they are not a protected class (since affording gays the same rights as the rest of us apparently means granting them "special" rights). I'm just saying they should be.
