exactly. you don't know how to shut up and stay in your lane. that's the problem with cf's. it's isn't about folks not thinking rationally. There's a number of very good posters that do and are consistent in doing so. It's more about folks like you, who speak from a place of ignorance that makes this board bad at times. they lack all the information and act like they know wtf they're talking about

Dude, you went full psycho because someone disagreed with you and then you actually think I’m avoiding answering your question? No, you’re just a douche bag. You’re not smarter than anyone. You’re not a “bigger” Rockets fan. You’re just a petulant dick who can’t communicate like an adult. Welcome to ignore.

I’d just like some decency and civility, but that’s far too much to ask from some.

Agree with YOLO....all the guys mentioned (minus EG) are gone and he’s next. Fertitta is the king of hype and just because they claim they keep making offers doesn’t mean they are not simply touting PR to keep the fanbase happy. If I know a player or his agent have told me their leaving no matter what, then I can make a token offer that won’t get accepted. Harden and Dipo likely made it very clear they wanted out no matter the offer. That clown saying this is a business is exactly the problem here....most owners own a team for their own enjoyment and to bring joy to the city and its fans. Tilman is running this team purely as a for-profit business at the COST of the fans. Tanking for a 14% chance of a top 3 pick may or may not work, but most likely the player we get will be basically a tradeoff for the loss of Oladipo. Fans don’t demand wins every year, we just want to have a fun, competitive product to watch with regular sized players who hustle and give their best effort on a nightly basis.

Tillman’s epic tweet making fun of the Warriors owner for paying luxury tax was a true reflection of his character and view how a team will be built

what evidence do you have that he is running this team only for profit, and what evidence do you have that most other owners are not running their business for profit? 4 teams paid the Lux tax last season...so it sounds like most teams only spend when they have the pieces.

it’s a business and the vast majority of owners treat it as such. They spend when the window is open. Ours had shut. It’s bizarre that this unnerves some of you so much. Talk about entitlement...

like i said on page 1, this is years late. So yet another thread this post belongs in

    years of old news.

another reminder: He has sat on unused mle money for years.

Not bringing back Ariza for a measly year. The rockets searched for 2 years straight to replace him with cheap fringe players. Who could have as we now know been a valuable trade asset just in case. He's not only been able to get teams guys like Oubre/RoCo but has been signed to significant money since he was gone

Trading for Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss by attaching De'Anthony Melton to Ryno. Knight/Chriss are absolute trash. Neither helped the team win games, but they did save the team a lot of money

Oh congrats to melton on signing a 4 year $35 mil deal btw.

Anthony’s time with the Rockets proved to be a disaster and within a month the team elected to part-ways with their high-profile free agent signing, but instead of releasing him, they kept him on the roster for close to three months even though he wasn’t in Houston or had any connection to the team. Why? They didn’t want to just eat the rest of his salary

Fertitta told SportsRadio 610 he had no issues with paying the luxury the night before last season’s trade deadline, but instead of adding payroll, the Rockets subtracted. They saved some money by trading Knight, Chriss and a first-round pick in order to add Iman Shumpert, Wade Baldwin and Nik Stauskas. Then, in an incredible display of salary gymnastics, Daryl Morey got the team below the luxury tax line by making a flurry of cost-cutting moves.

Morey pawned Stauskas and Baldwin to Indiana, attaching a second-round pick to them, and he finally found a taker for Anthony’s contract in the Chicago Bulls. To top things off, they just gave Ennis, who was in their rotation, to Philadelphia.

He dumped Gary Clark just before his measly contract became guaranteed.

Oh congrats to Clark on signing a new deal with the Magic btw.

Even in the Capela deal for RoCo, the Rockets could’ve added another player and more salary, but didn’t which allowed them to save money on the deal.

it's just a sheer coincidence that they duck the LT every time. He just needs more time. You'll see.. It's amazing who acts like they pay attention but it's clearly obvious they don't.

It's not about Not paying 15 mil for Ariza. It's about not paying ariza and then not finding a well suited replacement. We also didn't resign Luc which was also understandable because of health issues. If we are not going to pay 15 mil for ariza don't go cheap and sign a guy like Ennis. Then we wait for a buyout market and get austin rivers?
We can't win a championship by filling a glaring hole at a position by creating another one. It doesn't work that way. Championship teams are pretty darn solid in every position and excell even further in certain positions where the stars are.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
Imagine if Cleveland after losing to Golden State in the finals the first season of Lebron's return decided that the next year they were going to go cheap and leave a glaring hole at one or two of the positions. I doubt we see a come back the following year. They even had a legit big 3 as well that was getting paid.
Morey called it an arms race. An arms race means stock piling with the best players available at every position and yes even the bench.
We paid Cp3 Clint and ego and yes we absolutely should have. But we should have also paid someone to play the starting 3 and actually replace luc with another quality 3/4 off the bench. We should have either really"Ran it back" or improved.
Iman Shumpert, J.R Smith and some others got paid in Cleveland. Even their owner understood it costs money to win a title and that no one was going to sign in Cleveland unless they were going to get paid. Houston is no Cleveland but Houston def isn't NYC/Brooklyn L.a. SF Chicago or Miami. Hell even Golden State after a 73 win season picked up Durant.
There is no good reason or any way to convince any one of us to be concerned of Tillman's finances. He's a billionaire that probably did a crime against humanity to get to where he is. He's profited by selling you garbage frozen food quality at a high price at his chains. He's also taken a bunch of money from crack heads at his casinos.
Most NBA teams also increase in value through the years. Les Alexander paid 85 mil for the Rockets and sold it for 2.2 billion. He'll make his money back and more in the long run.
Again there is no way on earth you are going to convince any die hard Rockets fan who only wants this team to win a championship that Tillman should not have spent the money then and should not spend now or in the future for this team to win a championship.
If I ever move home to Houston I am going to take a giant **** on a Landry's plate and leave it at his front door with a note saying a) this the food you serve and b) this is what you've done to the Rockets!

Ours had shut? James Harden leading the league in scoring in his prime is not a shut window! If you have literally one of the top 5 players in the League on your roster the only mentality should be Win Now! Not tomorrow. Now! We're not going to get pieces if we are not going to pay. That's all there is to it. We should be Hard capped every mother f'n year while James Harden can help produce championships. Instead he bolted to Brooklyn where he actually has help. Durant Harden and Kyrie on a team? That's called surrounding your star with talent. Adding Durant to a 73 win team that's called wanting to win. Why on earth would you try to empathize with a douche Billionaire sports owner? In about 10 years he can probably sell the team at a profit!
