So comparing Porter to Russ is what you consider a metaphor?

You really need to brush up on your definition of a metaphor:

a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.

a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract.

There are elements of (in our system).

Tex designed the Triangle offense to work
on the block / to FT line / to mid range (to 3 PT line) [some give and go action]

Warriors have used elements of the Triangle offense since 2014 season.
Only now the Triangle has been made to work by extending the give and go
    over a greater distance.

Some PnR near half court or above the break 3 / the weave / basic hand offs.
From there hitting cutters/slashers or players coming around screens.
You see it in the way Olynyk was used last season with the Rockets
    during high PnR.... hand-offs.....the weave.

Theis will be allowed to pass from that high point on the court. It's meant
to lure the shot blocking center away from the rim. Sengun will also
get his chance of being the hub of the offense from that vantage point.
    ____________________

I've used the Hawks as an example before. One player made a big difference
last season. Capela didn't play a game for the Hawks in 19/20.

    Atlanta Hawks were 20-47 (19/20)
Added Capela last year to action and went 41-31 (20/21)

**Note that the Rockets will have 10 more games on the schedule this season than
last year's teams. That's 82 games instead of 72 games to reach my predicted 39 wins.
39 wins (see my post in the schedule thread)

Helped that they added Lou Williams at the trading deadline....but are they
really that much better than Houston?

    Capela/John Collins/ Okongwu vs Theis/Wood/Sengun/Garuba
I don't know, I might pick the Rockets front court over the Hawks crew.
All of the Rockets group are capable of hitting a 3 and spreading the court.

Are Trae Young/ Rondo/Kris Dunn that much better than
Wall/Eric Gordon/Porter/Jalen Green? We are going to find out?

DeAndre Hunter only played 23 games in the regular season and
Cam Reddish played only 26 regular season games. I like a slimmed down
Tate with Kenyon, Nwaba and House for my wings.

I will take my current Rockets vs last year's Atlanta Hawks which had 41 wins.
That's in the neighborhood of my Rockets prediction of 38 to 43 wins this season.

*Side note: and I liked the Hawks. I will say that the Hawks probably make it to
the finals instead of the Bucks if Trae Young didn't get injured vs Milwaukee.
It pays to get hot at the right time. I won't say this current Rockets team
is that lucky unless the trading deadline brings us a player or two.....like it
    helped the Hawks last season.

It was about the third G-league game and Green and Kuminga seemed to be standouts.

Started keeping track from that point on. Didn't watch Green play until that playoff game
vs the Raptors affiliate. Actually tuned in because we were chasing Alize Johnson
and a Clutch member here mentioned when the game would be played at the channel
    to watch.

I saw star material right away. Many have said he has, "It" factor.....that's what I saw.
Followed that up with lots of videos of game play, highlights, break downs, stat research.

I feel I'm a good judge of talent for the NBA. I said House would make the team
while others were saying, "No Way, he is just a scrub."

Kenyon Martin Jr......I was saying to myself what a waste of a pick because you need to
shoot 3's well to make it in today's NBA if you are a guard. Then to my surprise Kenyon
    corrected his technique in one season. I never mentioned publicly how I felt about Kenyon;
But I'm honest and released that information volunteerily.

Sengun I fell asleep on and didn't do my research because I never figured the
Rockets would spend assets to move up. To move Wall or Gordon yes, but not
to go after Sengun. After watching Sengun play live in the summer league, I have
to say I was pleased with what I saw. Blocking out the level of competition, Sengun
was active, showed BB I.Q., was aggressive near the rim, crafty with up and
under shots, made FT's, passed well (saw the court well), proper timing in allowing
offensive plays to develop, sets screens and can roll or pop from 10 to 3-pt line out,
    stays vertical when blocking shots.

Refs will call fouls on Sengun.....but they are also going to reward him for attacking
without dipping his shoulders. Stop the clock and allow our defense to get setup
more often than last season if he, Green, Eric Gordon, Wall and Porter are all driving
deep into the paint. Refs reward those who attack the rim. Because TV rating
depend on action in that manner. Stagnant plays does not get rewarded because
it's boring. Harden, Iverson, Marbury, CP3, MJ, Kobe, you name it got rewarded
for facilitating......being the straw the stirs the NBA drink. Rockets have several
of them this season with Green, Sengun, Porter (unbridled this season) to go
along with Wall (healthy), Eric Gordon and Wood. [Christopher probably only
plays in G-league unless a trade or injury happens].

I'm sure the Rockets would have cut Lamb to add Alize

    That's probably on Alize

I like KPJ but I lost faith in him when he said he looks up to Hardens game. If you going to settle for step back 3s and dribble the air out the ball then give me Jaygup. Kpj done lost about every scrimmage game he was on this summer

Huh, if you're losing faith, he'll probably be much better than expected. I'll have to reevaluate my opinion on him.

Actually i can't see why we signed Khyri Thomas, n why Anthony Lamb still staying on the roster…tho their salaries are peanuts, but yeah, there are way better options on the market, like Alize.

Im just here to say Im glad to see the Rockets see the same thing I do and they need to start the young guys. We are rebuilding this entire "they need to earn it" thing is stupid on a rebuilding team. Again nothing neats real NBA starting experience and you want to let them know you believe in them fromthe start.

Kevin Porter Jr played better as a Point Guard than John Wall last year, the team morale was completely different. Players were playing harder with KPJ and KPJ is a much better passer and higher IQ than John Wall.

John Wall was playing for stats and throwing up 3s and missing shots and missing a open Christian Wood Alley Oop pass for a Dunk. John Wall only cares only about John Wall.

Stephen Silas will get a pass this year, this year is more about personal production from the Younger players and learning team concept of passing and defending, rebounding and playing off ball for Jalen Green.

Stephen Silas needs to build a strong Culture that holds players accountable.

Players better be self disciplined because they can get out of the League if they are not committed.
