You get labeled cause of your history.. If you want to change that, try being more objective. there is a significant difference between what a hometown paper will cover after a game intheir story, and an AP recap.. I dont know how else to explain that. compare AP recaps to the articles that appear in any paper in the country....they are markedly different.
Rocket2K: Your history spoke for yourself and your language reveals the degree of your objectivity. Are you saying a hometown paper won't pop for Francis? Haha, say again. It is the objectivity that speaks the truth. It is the objectivity that results in all round, not one sided recap. Even more so when it is a hometown paper. I wonder whether you actually read the chronicle article before the reply.
I watched this game and can summarize it by saying it was like the Clippers game earlier this year in which Yao got on a roll early in the game. Yao didn't get the ball basically after the 1st quarter, but the Rockets were in control the whole game due to the 1st quarter lead. However, this game's lead deteriorated quickly after the 1st half. Rockets going down by 5 late in the game? Then Steve comes in and bails out the Rockets with outside jumpers. If the Rockets think they can waste a good lead by not going to the guy who got you the lead and then come back via the outside jumper late in the game, they will lose many more than they will win.
Sweet Lord. Acro, you posting that Chron recap just proved codell and everyone else's point. That's the hometown paper. The beat writer. THEY are supposed to capture 'more' of the game. NOT an AP recap. Let me ask you this: if, say, there was a thrilling Heat/Clipper matchup on tonight...would you go after the recap on the AP? Then, after that, would you be so inclined to go through the boxscore? Would you then, perhaps, decide that the recap didn't 'capture the essence' of said Heat/Clipper thriller, and maybe go scouring the net for actual game footage for the key fourth quarter moments, just so you could be secure in your knowledge that you knew the true story behind this night's Heat/Clipper epic? If you say yes, you're lying. Do you understand? That's not the JOB of an AP recap. They give basic details, basic points. They are limited in time and space. They are covering everything that happened that night. And if you think that the NBA players - the guys actually out on the court - believe that what happens in an AP recap is indicative of what completely happened on the floor then you're deluding yourself.
What history? I have a history of speaking common sense and slight homerism towards my team. once again, what history do yu refer to? DEFEND YOURSELF. channeling TJ of course I read it....duh! my language? I was way more cordial in my reponse than you deserve. I was a lot less inflammatory inmy reply than a blivet like you deserves. Want to see how I normally talk to hard headed blivets like you? I said (in very basic terms so you will understand )....that the Chron is going to go into MORE detail about a game since they are reporting a STORY about the game. Why are you having a problem understanding this? Did YOU even read my response? I feel you didnt because it doesnt jibe with the crap you normally feel like raining upon us. The AP RECAP (would you like me to define what a recap is?)...is just a quick and dirty RECAP of the game....they dont have the room to go into detail about the game..that is for the local papers to do.... I give up...A blivethead like you will never understand the plain truth even when multiple people try to point it out to you. Dont even bother replying...you dont understand the truth and never will...
I think they should have mentioned that hail mary James three pointer that kept it close enough for both of you to keep arguing this point....
They did mention Cat. Let's not forget that shot that Cat hit came off a Steve assist. But your post wasn't that we have some unsung heroes on the team who don't get the recognition they deserve.(that would be a positive) You said the media shouldn't give Francis credit.
