That's why I love this board, the members are BBall savvy. Badiane who? Not starting in Germany? Props to you arno_ed.
Would any team in their right mind want Juwon Howard? I really can't think of one good thing he does besides eat minutes. I don't even think he's a good backup. We just have to hope and pray that management can get lucky somehow and find that missing piece i.e. power foward.
Are you out of your mind? The Bulls trade away Elton Brand for Tyson. He is on the trading block, but with a pricy tag. Juwan Howard? You have to bribe somebody to take him with his big contract.
I like Tyson Chandler too. He is an above-average rebounder and shot blocker. If only he could develop a mid-range jumper to draw his defender away from collapsing on Yao, he would be what the doctor orders for the Rockets team.
Actually, I think D. Marshall would be a great fit for this team. He's bigger than Howard and is a better rebounder (10rpg), he is also a good shooter, especially from 3-point land. Kurt Thomas had a HUGE game against us, but he's not that great of a rebounder, his size is also a concern.
TRADE? You guys asking for trades is the reason we are the way we are now. Cato was a tough rebounding power forward. Now we got Juan Howard. Im not saying Steve was better than TMac, but Steve, Cat, and Cato were better than TMac, Howard, and Lue.
Lue and Howard have under impact since JVG has Knicks complex with Ward and Howard is made redundant by MoT. Their stats being cut by situation doesn't do them justice. Grant Hill being better than JJ and Dwright Howard being better than MoT is more likely the case. To compare our position before and after the trade is a better approach. Position wise: MoT plus Howard = or > Cato plus MoT MoT came off the bench last year because the team needed scoring from the bench. He's actually a better starter than Cato at pf. He loses a block and a couple rebounds from Cato but he makes it up with his offense. Spin it all you want but 4 points are better than a block and a couple of rebounds in my book. Cato wasn't a defensive god or anything close. How many times was he killed by quick athletic pfs last season? McGrady plus whoever >>> Cat plus whoever Lue plus whoever<< Francis plus whoever Acquisition made available by the trade: Dikembe Mutombo, who I'd take over Cato even at the age of 68. The T-Mac trade lured him to Houston. T-Mac, Mutombo, Lue and Howard are better than Francis, Mobley and Cato. Overall results of trade. Plus. Mobley's contract is up and there's no guarentee he'll return. Nobody knows if we are gonna lose him for nothing. Cato has robotic hands with loose screws. Put things in perspectives, tis's good trade for the Rox.
I'll trade the coach but i'm no trading Yoa yet. Her will be a scoring monster if we know how to use him. Look at his stat is keep improving even if the rockets isn't pass him the ball that much. And Big Ben is a 4 and Yao just shoot over him. Trade for Ely or Wilcox if you need rebound.
Funny but last I checked over-the-hill Mourning is averaging almost 3 times as many blocked shots as Howard and Taylor combined. He is also averaging more points and rebounds than Howard and Taylor individually. I like Taylor and want to keep him, but Juwan Howard can go especially if we can get a physical and fiery center/forward like ZO.
This is an opinion not based on the only fact that matters, THE RECORD, last year 9-4, this year 6-7. I always felt that last years team was close to contending for a championship and that we should have built around last years core. While I can see the argument around building around T-Mac and Yao, so far it ain't happened. I wonder how many Rox fans would call this trade a success if we get eliminated in the 1st round or don't make the playoffs, god forbid.
Bulls fans have given up on Chandler developing a mid-range shot, and I don't see any reason to think a change of scenery would help. Chandler apparently also has bad hands. I'd be interested in Chandler, but I'm a little more wary of him now. I'd still do Chandler and filler for JH in a heartbeat.
