well... we overcame a over 20+ deficit and had a legitimate chance of beating OKC tonight... if not for the Durant's lucky 3 points.... plus this is our first playoff series... for a young team which only assemble for 1 year... I would take tonight's result with a smile....

Brainwashing??? I think you mean psychotherapy. Any Rockets fan who puts next year, or the year after that, in the order of importance in front of this year, is someone who hasn't been around the NBA too long or isn't really thinking. This isn't college ball where you basically have the same guys for four years in a row, and can develop them. This Rockets team next year for example (and especially with Morey at the helm) could have an entirely different roster. So many things happen during the course of an NBA season that you can't take the NOW for granted, you have to take advantage of the opportunites given you in the present moment...tomorrow is never gauranteed. This year for example the Rockets basically had no major injuries. Next year we could have a better, more experienced team than this year--but then an injury to a star player happens! Also a bad trade could go down which changes the whole dynamic of the team. Maybe Harden or Asik could out of the blue demand a trade. Maybe Mchale gets replaced and the new coach doesn't know how to go.

When its the playoffs and everyone on the team is healthy and Russell Westbrook is down you have to take advantage of that opportunity, not make excuses. Next year there will be other excuses to make, you can believe it.

I just want to see progression throughout our first series and that is exactly what I got. First game was abysmal and then the next two showed that we could hang in actuality. I'm proud of my Rockets. Now, I want them to go play with their hearts on their sleeves no matter what, go for winning 4 and don't stop trying or give in. That is what I would like to see.

You are a better person than me. My pick is Jessica Alba. And it reallly did not take all that much thought.

Remember that a team that had Durant and Westbrook was still bad enough to get a number 3 pick. We will improve too.

like the thread and love that gif

glad to know there are people here who still positive...theres a lot of finger pointing going on here...but considering how successful this season has been...i think everyone, lin, mchale, harden, asik, t-rob, d-mo, EVERYONE gets a free pass and deserves at least another season

lets see what the offseason brings and hope for the best next season...before this series even started, so many people here were so positive and thankful for this amazing season...now there are multiple threads trashing harden, lin and mchale etc...how can so many people expect to be swept by the thunder and then get so upset when that happens?

Actually, I think people while not saying it, expected better or closer games then we've seen. Long story short, the problem lies within but if you want details, here is where my rant begins.

Ibaka calling us selfish is accurate if you watched enough games. We all know Harden is going to throw up a bunch of shots, but certain games and at points when we are down, Parsons, Beverly, Delfino and even Lin (when healthy) will at times go out throwing bad shots consistently rather then try one more pass or driving into the hole before the defense is set so they can take a 3 point shot.

Perkins calling out fans, technically he is sort of a local product and lets be honest, it isn't like he did it out of no where. I was blasting on him as being a non factor on forums, I am willing to bet a few Twitter Thugs did worst.

Patrick Beverly getting death threats, isht happens when you are in involved with the injury to a superstar. The play wasn't dirty, but people see what they want, a no name guy injuries a bigger name player. Suddenly he is dirty and the refs in the next game start it off calling fouls all over the place in anticipation of retaliation or thinking someone might try something similar. Won't be surprised going into next season if there is talk about people wanting a Westbrook-Beverly rule.

While I was surprised by Durant's behavior, anyone that knows Perkins game, is that he takes those cheap shots and acts as an enforcer. He has no other skills, his defense outside of his Celtic period has been shown to be average on his best days for a center and his offense is more random then Tetris pieces. I'm guessing Durant was making a statement about him not backing down from trying to carry this team on his back like legit superstars are willing to do, in how he played last night which left guys like Lin, Parsons and whoever tried to guard him in a bad place to be.

As a Rockets fan, I more pissed off that I know even with this "young" roster (I am pretty sure once we got Brooks and Garcia we were no longer the youngest average team in the NBA but are the youngest team in the playoffs) we could probably have gotten 1 or 2 games. We just haven't been preparing for the playoffs like other true contenders have been in the regular season and are now suffering for it. It has nothing to do with OKC really, any team we might have faced that has won in this same convincing manner 3 games would have caused this or more anger. OKC only has the determent of being Harden's old team and the current one where Kevin Martin (who a lot of people wrote off after he failed to be a difference maker for a few season here) and Derek Fisher (who is a top shelf A-hole) reside.

Most of us saw the righting on the wall but 'Hope' can lead you into even greater despair when the circumstances are you are entering are unwinnable and you just set yourself up for a bigger fall.

THIS. I just have this feeling that if we don't get our second star this summer, everyone is going to freak out and start all this doomsday nonsense.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if we don't make any significant moves, because there are some players that could be better fits for our needs that'll be free agents next summer (like Cousins, Monroe, Bledsoe, Wall, etc.). Some of the big guys this summer like Dwight and Paul are not overly likely to come here, but who knows really.

Either way, this playoff experience has been great for the Rockets even if we get swept. We're learning how to play in close games in the playoffs and how to beat the Thunder, which will be vital to this teams success in the future.

No way. we have no posters that go into panic mode or berate our own players. :p

We are young. Turnover to turnover we stand!
I expect everyone to improve and mchale too.

Yep. Our biggest weakness is probably turnovers/transition defense off of those turnovers, which can be improved in time.

^^this, rockets had a good season overall, not many expected us to be in the playoffs...to be the youngest team and be in the playoffs is a great start!..

but like you said i think a lot of people mad because of how the OKC players are being douchebags/dirty...durant's was more quiet and calm before...but this season his 'true' form came out....if okc and heat meet in the finals again, ill be rooting for the heat this season

if you take out brooks (28) and garcia (31) who are not part of the original team... our average age drops to 23.7 which is the youngest in this league :D

No one is glad that we lost 2 games. This series should really be 2-1 in the Rockets favor. We are glad that this team has been able to compete with the #1 seed. The Rockets lack the experience and even chemistry the Thunder have and we nearly beat them. Do you not realize this roster went through a complete make over. This our starting five first full year as starters. IMAGINE WHEN WE GET A SECOND STAR. The future is bright.
