Are people here stupid enough to not realize that the 6ers just played one of the best games of basketball without an All star player that I've ever seen. They aren't going to win games like that every night because they will miss shots half the time but this team will win half their games this year just simply by system alone bad hot shooting. Brett Browns system is almost the exact same system McHale used last year with subpar talent that could just score but Brown has probably better athleticism to get out and run. That style of play earned a playoff spot for the rockets last year. Brown might even have a better fit for that system than McHale had last year with the athletes he has. Give the sixers some f-ing credit for crying out loud. They won the game fair and square by great shots, running the floor like your shorts are on fire, and commitment to defense. They earned the win and the Rockets didn't answer. Houston will be fine this year but they need better talent around their stars eventually and they need to find an identity.
Every team that beat us deserves credit. They all played their best too. Keep patting yourself on the back.
And an 'all star' wanna be center running around the court thinks he is some kind of superstar that has no impact on any game.
The trio of Uncle Le$, Maury, and McFail is destined for disaster. The roster also has fatal flaws. From overhyped and/or inept role players to a 2 guard who plays no defense and relies on the refs to constantly bail him out on offense to a big man who has no real offensive moves and doesn't know how to shoot free throws. Durant and Westbrook aren't here to mask Harden's weaknesses anymore and nobody can hold Dwight's hand at the free throw line or teach him a jumpshot. Both D12 and JHarden are nice complimentary or #2 stars, but neither has shown they have what it takes to be the man so far. At the very least the Rockets need a new coach, better role players, and a 3rd star. Hakeem Olajuwon is not walking through that door.
Besides the obvious coaching problems, the Rockets need players with more experience and savvy to win down the stretch. They won't be beating any of the top teams in either Conference in a playoff series with that roster and coach. They need upgrades at the 3 and 4 spot badly.
Which is a good thing. Do you see the different in the team chemistry? Harden: ISO ISO ISO ISO and MORE ISO. Rest of the team camp all day. No Harden: Ball movement and assist all day.
The Rox have seen some miraculous performances. Reminds me of the year after the Rockets won their first title. They had some serious problems early on winning games with teams gunning for them every night. I think teams are really gunning for the Rox now for whatever reason like we won something they wanted.... Gotta grind out wins the first few months if your a team like the Rockets. The league will look way different after the new year and the Rox will finally see teams that aren't playing in video game god mode.
There are some details that anyone can observe clearly. After each timeout, some players are tying to do a cheering and put a fist out there, no one gives a shxt about that. Then you know this team is suffering internally. They are not on the same page. There are lots of this kind of scenes if you paid attention to players gestures and interactions. Undoubtedly, players having their own agenda. And the coach can't make players buy into his philosophy. Just said that several games before, and change will be happened sooner rather than later. No worries, Les would make the right decisions. Either Asik, Lin or Mchale or all of them. Because Les, Morey, Harden, Howard and Parsons all agreed to be a 3 man core. Coaches and players just have to make sure things happend because of them. Clutch time plays? Just give them the balls.
I'm convinced this thing will turn. It just doesn't make sense that we are playing like this and that our opponents are playing with their hair on fire every game. Eventually, things will 'click' and we will go on a big run.
I'm not sure fan expectations were that the Rockets were a contender this year. It looks more and more like we need to make a trade. In a perfect world maybe Asik for Millsap or Horford and then pick up Okafor if the Suns cut him loose. With Garcia going cold it exposes our lack of wing scoring depth as well. MLE next year could fix that.
Anyone know what happened to our rebounding edge? Looks like it has totally evaporated in the last few games...
Calm down fellas. Remember the first season in Miami when the "big three"? They were horrid the first half of the season. We'll be fine.
