So $100 on Rockets not making the playoffs. I will take you up on that.

And rest assured i WILL be bumping this come April. Hey Jeff or DoD, or Clutch, hope you read this. And ban whoever who doesn't pay up, just so its fair.

I have a feeling this chump is gonna try to wiggle his way out after our next win streak.

    p***y.

I agree the Rox will make the playoffs, but you gotta admit, that last loss to the hawks was totally inexcusable and unacceptable. I really hope the ROX come together and not let a game like that one slip away again the way it did.

Absolutely. I just hope he pays up his 100 bucks. That came out of his mouth, not mine.

Ward needs to pray to Jesus like he did against the Kings. He's a religious guy. Maybe that will give him the power to shoot the 3s better.

How do you think the Rox will fare after that disheartening loss against the hawks....honestly?

how many games did we lose last year to bad teams?

it happens...to all teams from time to time.

    was it nasty? yes
was it something we should never have to witness? absolutley

does it mean we are total crap and will never get better? HELL NO.

9 games in....still working with a couple of our main guys with nagging injuries....and with a couple of not so good players backing them up...

I say this game has absolutely nothing to do with how well we do this year.

    period.

Well I hope youre right. I have total faith in the Rox, I just get so immensely frustrated with them. Whenever I watch them lose a game like the HAWKS one in particular, it really really irritates me. I understand that it is still early and I'm sure the Rox will pan out into a consistent winning team, but no matter how many times in the past you've seen them lose INEXCUSABLE games, it is always hard to swallow.

Man, all this positivity from knowledgable posters holding off the irrationality on this board after one loss is really bringing a tear to my eye. Finally i am not alone.

Without a doubt.....hard to swallow indeed....

but in team sports....as the saying goes....sh*t happens.

and last night....it happened ALL OVER the Rockets. :(

still doesnt give everyone total license to do their best Chicken LIttle impersonations.

The sky IS NOT falling folks...VG is NOT getting fired.....Yao is NOT getting traded.........all of these things are irrefutable facts(logically)...so why dont we just calm down a little bit from the mass hysteria that has infected this place.

You remember that Dunk Yao had on Childress (immediately after Childress dunked on Yao) last night.....well that's the kind of Yao we need on every play every night. Do you think Yao was just trying to send a message 'cause he got dunked on the play before or do you think Yao will take that aggressive instinct on for the rest of the season>?

lol, funny but true. I personally think the rox are the best team in the league, but I guess being a die hard fan there is a grain of bias to that remark :p On a serious note though, would you agree that EVEN with our given unit of role players, the Rox collectively at the best that we've seen thus far is the best team in the league? (this probably sounds ridiculous, but take a stab at it if you will)

The thing is, when people say Yao needs to be aggressive, yes thats true. However, a big part of why he isn't always agressive is his stamina. How is he supposed to be dunking on everyone when hes bending over half the game.

A spark, like some rookie dunking on him, or that massive facial by Kobe 2 years ago, provides some impetus for him to be agressive for a few minutes. Thats just estrogen....err.....adrenalin at work.

    ;)

lol. Overall I have to say that I have seen Yao becoming pretty down in the post. He's got better moves and he can definitely hold his ground and do more than I've seen in the past. So as far as improvement from last year....absolutely. We still seem glimpses of his Stamina problem and whenever that happens, he can't be as aggressive, hence the negative posts about Yao.

No we are not the best team in the league.

Spurs are probably the most complete and dominant team. A slew of other teams have played better than even the best the Rockets has shown this season, which i believe was in the Kings game.

With that said, we are no where near our optimal efficency. And we haven't shown anything near that either.

obviously...at the 2 and 5 we are just as strong if not stronger than any team in the league... we are decent to average at the 4(depends on what you want from your PF, offense or defense)...average at the 3(JJ inconsistent so far on offense, good on D) and we suck balls at the point.

so collectively...It would be a far stretch to say we are the best in the league.

when they are working together as a team, and executing the gameplan...we are in the top 5 in the league(collectively)

I predict we will get smoother and more in control of our own destinys by the AS break..but our weaknesses will keep us from achieving the ultimate goal this year....but rest assured that chanegs will be made over the offseason to fix what the weak link is.

I agree about the Spurs. They don't have a weakness as far as I can tell and as much as I hate to admit. I don't know why but I just feel that the rockets can beat ANY TEAM in the league on any given night. Call me biased, but every time I see the rox set foot on the floor (whether it be at home or on the road) I literally expect them to win that game. It's as if if they don't win, it's a disappointment because I expect a win. I don't mean to say that I expect the rockets to win 82 games in a season. I'm just saying I have so much confidence in the team that they have the ability to beat any team anywhere any night. Is that an unfair statement?

Well I keep hearing people say that changes will be made, but thing is who has the big say in the changes in the offseason.....JVG and Les right? What do you think of Les' basketball instincts as far as recognizing the weak link and/or weaknesses and making changes in response to that?
