yes, omer got screwed too guy did everything asked of him. good character guy. now dwight comes in with his 8 baby mamas and gets parades with hakeem, moses etc. greeting him BUT omer DID complain and now mchale had no choice but to say Omer will still get 30 mins a game and be starter lin needs to complain a bit as the squeeky wheel gets the oil poor lin. that is what he gets for being a nice guy. he should just go bang hookers w harden everyday and then people wouldnt take advantage of him
The problem with this thread is we are not all Rockets fans. There is a large handful of users whose loyalties lie elsewhere, and that's why this thread is tanking.
I'm pretty sure Dwight wanted to play with Asik too, and that was part of his decision to come here, to play side by side with another quality big man.
Season starts tomorrow for us! This is like Christmas to me! As for you "Rockets" fans, this is a thread about the Rockets about to start the season. Take that other **** somewhere else.
This... I could care less. Winning is all that matters to me, not how someone is being treated when team is what matters most.
I am OK with the decision. But it really annoys me that a lot of ppl on here are sugarcoating the situation. Lin is obviously sacrificing for the team and getting demoted, don't say it as it is some kind of golden opportunity for being the 6th man of the year. Just call a spade a spade.
Lin gonna ball this year. He won't be starting, but I think his numbers are gonna be higher this season compared to last season. I can dig that he's a little bummed out. Just wait till that first game when Linsanity strikes again. Been in the same spot. Had to share the ball with somebody better than me. Then I decided that I wanted to come off the bench. Didn't make me less of a player. What it did was satisfy my need to have the ball in my hands.
Well said and I am sure Lin will embrace this role and get a lot more media attention than he would as a spot up shooter next to Harden. Although this thread is not really supposed to be about Lin, but just about the excitement of the upcoming season and a reminder, that we are all Rockets fans and shouldn`t try to make this just about one player (and if we do, then with respect for the other posters, the other players on the team and for the coach and the organization).
the very first reply ladies and gentlemen. there is no peace, you're the prey or the predator. ur either a lin fan, or a lin hater. you either think lin gets too many minutes, or not enough minutes. u cant straddle the fence, pick a side
Expectations are much higher now, and everyone will face greater scrutiny. If you can't accept this, you should not read or participate on the forum. Don't try to set rules or tell people what or how to write. The LOH's and now the psychotic BOF's have tried, and failed miserably. The reality is that once you get very close to the prize, the franchise has to be very demanding and detail-oriented. There is very little room for error at the top of the heap. San Antonio was one missed 3 pt shot away from a title. Every player acquisition, every allocation of minutes, every rotational decision, even every play called, is subject to greater scrutiny, second guessing and criticism. This is what happens when you get very close to the prize. A team that's rebuilding obviously is going to face far less scrutiny, since heaping on criticism is going to be counter-effective. Every detail counts now, which is the way it should be. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
If you are angered by reading letters and characters and emoticons on a message board, then perhaps you shouldn't post or read this message board or any other. People are going to express varying opinions. That's the nature of discussion forums.
Who cares??? He didn't even say Lin in the post and still the first response is about Lin!!!! WTF!!! I like Lin as a player but when his time in Houston is up Clutchfans will be a better site.
Exactly. Lin is obviously not a rocket. He's asian, therefore, he's not a basketball player, nor is he a player on the rockets organization. Brilliant logic. Another slice of that, please.
Why do you keep bringing up off court stuff as if it relates to on court performance? This isn't the nice guy association.
I don`t think you understand what I was trying to say here. The "rules" I was implying are basically basic forum rules: no flaming, no attacking other posters and be respectful to the members of our team. Pretty standard although several people on here seem to have forgotten about them. Of course every move will be under a microscope this year - and that`s alright. I love people on here analyzing everything, bringing up stats and great arguments. That`s what this forum is for. What I don`t like is people attacking our players, calling for McHales head because he did something that may have been unfair to one player but also may have helped the team. I also don`t like people attacking Lin for a stupid turn over - because they know it will just end in a LOF vs LOH war. What I want is a little more respect back on this forum - and a little more unity. Like I said, we are all Rockets fans. If you are no Rockets fan, chance is you are in the wrong forum. People that are no Rockets fans are basically guests here on should act accordingly. Discussions, arguments and also fights are very welcome on here. Flame wars and making everything about one player (and blaming everything and everyone else for anything bad he does) are not.
