    The difference was there were tons of pictures of all the other players from our team in the paper, and not just Hakeem. People cheered them all, and not just one player. I still have some of those old newspaper clippings I collected during those years.

    It's the 'fanboy' era... it's all about individual accomplishments and stats.... advanced analytics... idk maybe its free agency that results in players moving around more and then you get more fans of certain players - rather than of a team...
    Nowadays it seems there are more playerX- OF's than ever before....
    Everything is marketed to more and more of a 'superstar league'...and that's what the media feeds...

    100 percent agree with OP. I think that ROCKETS fans appreciate all players on the squad. We know how solid guys like Ariza, Nene, and Beverley are. And even all of our roster too.

    I agree that "sports media" isn't giving these guys their proper due.

    Last time I checked, James didn't own the Houston Chronicle. It's on the paper to present balanced coverage, in my humble opinion. I have to admit that I miss the old afternoon daily, the Houston Press, and the other paper I grew up with (and worked at for a while), the morning Houston Post. Competition is good. It's good for basketball, obviously, and its good for newspapers. Today, their big competition is online. Some of it is right here at ClutchFans. There's far better coverage of basketball here, in my opinion, than in the Chronicle. Either by Clutch and his merry crew, the members who contribute columns for the Front Page, and in the forums, if you dig a little, and even if you don't.

    Nope just like the Bucks have Giannis, OKC Westbrook, PG for the Pacers, etc etc etc the stars are the covers for the team.

    The whole narrative no one wants to play with Khloe's ex is beyond ridiculous

    I still enjoy reading the paper. But, I prefer reading magazines and books in hard copy too, compared to electronic devices. Maybe a lot of the people who don't care don't even read the paper.
