Oh man, we had a great game going. Environmental interaction. Think of fights were the characters would grab chairs and utilize them in combat.... The game was going to be amazing. Oh well, someday !! DD
From what I have seen and read, December '05 seems like a good target date to estimate, giving or taking a month or so. The PS3 is a little more hard to guesstimate when it will be released. While Microsoft wants its console to be the first on the market, making late next year a good guess, Sony just wants to make the PS3 really powerful, and with these new technologies, dates can change. Things like the Cell architechture, XDR ram, and Blu-ray technology could all cause dates to change. It could come out as early as early to mid 06 or as late as some time in 2007. I'm thinking maybe more like mid-to-late 06 myself. The Revolution I have heard little about. I don't think it will be as powerful as the PS3, but I don't think it will be out sooner than than Xenon/Xbox2/whatever, so sometime maybe in early 2006 could be a good guess. As for the games, Johnny Whatever does look pretty nice and really innovative. The release date of it looks kind of scary though. By September 2006, I'd assume that at least 2 next-gen consoles would have already launched. It would make it difficult to sell if it is released at the same time as newer, next-gen games are released, which would be terrible since it does look like it could be pretty fun. If it is actually a next-gen game, I'd assume that you guys would have to have been given or somehow guess the way the next-gen consoles' architechture and specs will be like, although that would be difficult I would assume. It would be interesting to see how this stuff works.
Congrats looks like three winners the Sticky balls reminds me of Marble Madness. . . dunno if it plays like it .. but i use to like that game Rocket River
DaDakota--I'm not a gamer by any stretch, but I just wanted to let you know I saw the little write up and screen shot for Johnny Whatever in Wired Magazine. If you made it into the best magazine ever, you must be doing something right.
Yeah, to me surprise, I've seen news about these games in a lot of different gaming sites as well. Kind of surprised me to see articles dedicated to these games right next to articles dedicated to FF12 or MGS 3, etc. However, there was a thread about it in a pretty good gaming site that contained posts about the JW that were not quite as supportive of the game that most of the posters here are. They didn't really hold back.
rc,, Which site? I think it is hard for some people to get it, the game is simply gonna be fun... I promise. DD
If your talking about the forum that was dissing the game, I read about it on the Beyond3d boards. Here is the thread that talk about JW in particular. If you're talking about just any site that talks about it, there are a few of them. The one in that thread has a link to report on it on an XBOX site. I think I've seen a few reports of it elsewhere as well, but they all seem to just repeat what you guys have on you're web site. I was just checking numerous sites, so I don't have them on hand, but I'm sure if you check a few XBOX or XBOX 2/Xenon/Next sites, they could have info on the game as well as forums that probably mentioned it. I didn't really get into it, I just happen to see it while looking for a few things I'm interested it. BTW, Sticky Balls seemed to get a little bit of love on a PS3/PSP forum, getting 3 page thread that is still going on now. But then again, the thread is mostly popular since the game was shown at E3 and is for the PSP, which, considering it is a PSP site, would get a lot of love. There were some people who seemed to like it though. You can read it here if you wish.
