who cares? If we make it, people will say we finally lived up to the talent and they aren't surprised. If we fail, they will say they were right. THat's how it goes. But in terms of this douches reason, the celtics didn't have any champions on their team last year (unless you count sam cassell who didn't play all that much) and they won it.
That's not Brooksball, that's North East fan. And the funny thing is no one corrected...BB even ignored your post. LOL what's up with that? Anyway right now I certainly don't consider us championship contenders. Sure we'd had health issues but I don't really see the parts complimenting each other enough to beat LA. Beisdes, we're only as strong as our weakest link and considering Alston is on fire now he'd probably burn himself out and start playing like sh$t come playoff time. Not only that, the type depth we have (basically spread out among the roster instead of in just a few guys) entails the coach to have good substitution patterns, and I don't think that's Rick Adelman's forte at all...still stranger things have happened, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see....
No way = 0% chance? I respectfully disagree, then. Even with them, we probably still have about a 5 to 10% chance of not making the playoffs (much higher if TSlack keeps dogging it).
you failed to realize the talent around him actually went somewhere in the playoffs before garnett arrived. Pierce went to the ECF. Allen has gone to ECF and 2nd round in West. Cassell has won 2 rings. The only person we have thats had success in barry.
You need to take your own advice. Just because you disagree with someone's opinion doesn't mean you have to attack them and tell them to "grow up" or go to the age old, tired method of attacking someone's grammar.
You're the only person who think that our players are "fundamentally soft". The writers and ESPECIALLY the players don't consider the Rockets "fundamentally soft", only you do. In fact, many in the media and players alike agree that the Rockets biggest issues was injuries not being "fundamentally soft". You go ask the players around the league if they think the Rockets are "fundamentally soft" and they'll tell you that a team that has fought through the injuries that they have fought through over the years, and still got to the playoffs, and was competitive, is not "soft".
Hornets are playing without Tyson Chandler and David West(If I remember correctly) and they're 1 game ahead of us.and Utah Jazzholes, which is playing without Carlos Boozer and Andrei Kirilenko,is sitting at #8 seed in the west and just 2 games behind us. It's not that secure I must say, with the return of McGrady and Ron,I would say it ain't no joke this time if McGrady messes up again and lets us down on and off the court, hope it's not,I'm still following McGrady and won't end up with a unhappy ending. So just wait and see how it plays out in the upcoming games this month.
dude this guy's not from a foreign country. you want clutchfans to be the site for soulja boy wanna bees? even tupac wrote proper english. god bless tupac. I speak for alot of people here on this board, we're tired of the people who think we deserve respect instead of earning respect. until we earn it, every writer is right. does this question your fandom and your hopes? no. read the article again. does it insult the Rockets? really does it? the article predicts we make to the second round, a place where NO TRACY McGRADY FAN has ever seen or any Rocket fan in many many years. They didn't have MP3 players the last time the Rockets made the 2nd round. Am I pissed off about this article? no. I'm not surprised that people are pissed off about this article. Its the same people who think Tracy Mc Grady > Shaq and Keith Jones is going around hitting our players in the knees with baseball bats.
There will be no 1st round exit this season. Im predicting we get to the 2nd round. After that im not so sure...ill have to assess that when the time comes.
I don't understand why some people think there is no chance for the Rockets missing the playoffs. When you are 3 games out of 9th place, there is a chance. Lucky us, there are only 9 contending teams in the West. The chances of making the playoffs are pretty high, but the margin of error is not that wide. Now lets put aside our bickering and hope that the Mavs miss the playoffs this year and really bomb it next year. I'd love to see their 2010 pick be top 5 pick, only to give it to NJ because of the j.kidd trade, who will be 37 by next year...hahaha.
peeps prolly started usin it bout fo-five years ago. I don't care what writers write. Legler said we werent going to make the playoffs last year after Yao went down. Who would have thought the Cardinals would be in the super bowl? Just hope for health, the Rockets are talented enough, and for the most part, driven enough to win a title. There, I wrote it for all of you, now you can relax.
Requirements for a successful playoff run as defined by "getting past the first round!" 1. All the players are fully recovered from all injuries 2. AB breaks out of month long slump and gets hot. 3. Wafer stays hot. 4. Vets and Newbies blend together and have chemistry. 5. The team finally "gets it," the system. 6. Yao continues to get more aggressive and effective. 7. Vets like TMac, Artest, and Barry hit third gear. AND, the stars and planets align. AND we draw Portland, Denver, or New Orleans in the first round. If all that happens, I like our chances for a long run. AND, Scola continues his very aggressive, consistent, and little noticed successful performances. Quietly, he is having quite a season.
