Beasley and Altidore aren't getting much playing time either and they made the roster. Of course, we also have a lot less depth at forward and left mid. Adu should get some chances with the nats this year though, we've got qualifiers, Gold Cup, and Confederations Cup this year. He may even be eligible for the U20 World Cup this year.
Correct me if I am wrong, but once someone plays with the MAJOR national team, they can no longer play with U-20? I am only saying this 'cuz Adu has played with the major team... I remember that beautiful shot against Guatemala...
I'm pretty sure he can still play for any team he's age-eligible for. For instance he had played with the full team prior to heading to the Olympics but didn't count as an "overage" player because he was the right age. I'm not 100% on that, though. That being said, I doubt he gets a run out with the U-20s anymore.
From www.concacaf.com : I read it in Spanish first, but now in English. I think it was translated verbatim, and it doesn't have the same effect as it does in Spanish. Still a good report, though. Just noting the United States' improvement over the past few years, and Mexico's inefficiency up north. I don't know, but... my team doesn't look all that good after the Jamaica and Honduras fiasco... I think this will be the year of another "Aztecazo".
Tomorrow afternoon ESPN Classic is showing the 2005 qualifier from Columbus, in case anybody wants some pregame buildup.
Yeah Swoly, you're wrong man. No rule against a U-20 player playing for the full nats and the youth national teams even after getting a full cap.
Just how we want it. 6:00 can't get here soon enough. Just looked at the forecast, 53 degrees and 30 MPH winds. The cold and rain won't be too bad, but that wind is going to do some crazy things to the ball.
Field seems to be in good conditions: Watch THIS GUY. He will be Guardado's replacement to create havoc. Now show me YOURS. EDIT: Here is YOURS... I fear Pam's brother. I also fear the GOOCH. Is it me, or are they having the defenders wear MEXICO's colors, just to train the EYES?
Bet Mexico wishes they were playing in Houston. Damn this game. I'm most likely going to watch, but I have 3 exams tomorow with 15min of time in between each.
Just wondering, why did Mexico switch from Nike to Adidas? Their 2006 World Cup kits were probably the best in the entire tournament, while their current kits are just the generic Adidas template in green.

Surrender, I believe ADIDAS will make the same kits for all their signed teams (see Mexico vs. U.S. the last 2 years, prior to Mexico signing with Adidas). The colors are the only things that will change. Remember the numbers in the middle on the jersey? That was all NIKE's design. Yes, Mexico changed since. I really enjoy seeing Adidas on more teams, thoug, but it appears that Argentina and Germany have the longest-enduring Adidas sticklers. EDIT: Sorry, I meant to answer if they did change. Here is an explanation of WHEN they signed, but it doesn't say WHY. Rough translation through "babelfish." You're an ahole, leroy420. I meant PHOTOS OF TODAY's training, you. From Sports.Yahoo.Com: Good point from Dempsey. STFU, Sven, and play some football.
