I remember watching that play and I thought he was fouled or thought he'd get the call. Maybe I'm thinking of another play. I'd have to see it again...
Kobe,Gasol, and Ariza came to play tonight. Melo fell off after the 1st qt. He was frustrated after being in foul trouble. J.R. Smith struggled shooting wise until the 3rd qt. and then got a stupid technical foul at the end of the qt. Seriously why let Sasha get in your head that bad to the point where you will taunt him right in front of the refs? Nuggets must play smarter if they want to win this series.
I don't think you understood my point. Ariza is no superstar but he has more offensive ability than your basic defensive role player. Ariza can attack the basket off the dribble and get his bigs the ball the way rockets fans dream our wing players could do. I'd say his ball handling is much better than both of our starting wing players. When Farmar was injured earlier in the season there were plenty of times when he played PG. Just consistently bringing the ball up the court shows more handles than defensive specialists usually have. Again, he's no star but there aren't many defensive role players who can give you what he does. I don't know how much you've watched Ariza over the course of his career but him shooting 40% from 3 point range for a season is completely unrealistic but in previous years the idea of him even being an option behind the 3 point line was laughable. He has drastically improved his jump shot this season.
JR didn't even bother to put a hand in Kobe's face on that shot, and I've seen Kobe hit that shot a million times before (one of which was against us earlier this season).. Absolutely no need for him to act like a jackass.. He's hands down the best player in the league, but $h!t like this is what causes me to hate his freaking guts and wish him nothing but torn ACLs and broken Ankles.. and no, I don't feel bad in the least for saying this.. P.S: watching his a$$ get rejected, TWICE, by Kenyon Martin was a freaking JOY..
Let's just say that the Nuggets let their headband proclivities shoot them out of the game. They should have won this by 10 points, but instead they took a ton of dumb shots, made boneheaded turnovers and couldn't grab a loose ball to save their lives. You've also got to tip your hat to Gasol and Bryant for being so clutch in the fourth quarter.
Lmfao, it's not like he talked trash to Battier the whole game. All he did was make a face .Way too many Kobe haters here; I understand because of the Rockets series, but this is ridiculous. Btw, it's not hands down...LeBron and Kobe are debatable.
It's not all the time so please don't exaggerate. It's pertinent and relevant to compare players that perform similar roles and functions for their teams as Battier does for the Rockets. What's ironic is that you made the same comparison between Ariza and Battier indirectly in post #583. If people weren't delusional in making Battier out to be some type of all-star, there would not be the need to make these comparisons and bring the blind Battier worshipers back to reality.
I see Carmelo with 4-13 from the field with 21 points JR Smith 4-15 just 10 points. 2 more shots than Carmelo and got less than half the points? Carmelo is the superstar and is expected to do what he normally does, JR Smith's the wild card. So outta that I'd say theyre even in costing the team the game. Agree. We're all guilty of it a bit cuz it makes things more interesting to watch, but its always about making up some storylines to tie into the action. The most magical moments is when some bit player like John Paxson comes in and sinks a game winning jumper and becomes hero-ified. And he was all BALLS he didnt CHOKE in the pressure...as though he couldnt have been poised and confident but just simply missed. And then Jordan gets all the credit anyways for making Paxson into a better player
Let's pick this up next season when he comes down to Earth. Ariza's current shooting makes it difficult to discuss him realistically. Artest easily has better handles. I don't remember Ariza doing much more than bringing the ball upcourt against zero pressure, then dumping it off. Saying he played PG is a stretch. Agreed Ariza's improved his jumper and 3-point shooting this season, but I just don't have as high of an opinion of him as you do.
Carmelo should not try to force his shots. He is more effective when he plays within the flow of the offense. The 2nd half of game 3 showed this. He scored most of his points in the first half where he played team ball.
This was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched on t.v. EVER. It helped that I watched it with a group of friends. After Kobe hit that 3 in the 4th q. we were all jumping up and down. If (IF) the Lakers win the championship this year, Kobe would seriously be considered as one of the best in history. He is doing it all by himself this post season. I hope he can keep it up. He looks exhausted out there last night.
Billups is awesome and all, but I hate how he runs around until he can ram into someone to draw the foul and then be applauded for his 'veteran savvy'. That's just flopping on the offensive end. He does it when he shoots his jumpers, too. He flails like a fish when you dare to put a hand up. Incidental contact looks like body crushing blows. It's just a sick way to take advantage of the refs.
The commentators are like "this guy is right their with Wade and Lebron." Once I heard that I knew Carmello was in for either a really bad shooting night or he was going to punch somebody and get suspended. Comparing second tier guys to Lebron, Wade or Kobe = jinx
I guess I jinxed him even more when I told my cousin that Melo would definitely get 40 points when he had 16.
Why all the hate towards Kobe? Did you wish Jordan all sorts of injuries too? Or Bird? Because those two were far bigger trash talkers than Kobe. This was back in the day when you could actually taunt your opponents too.
