This game continues to be a dog. Chauncey is doing his Rafer impersonation. Melo had disappeared from the game since the 1st quarter. But the Nuggets continue to make Kobe work very hard and no other Laker will step up.
do any two teams commit more stupid fouls than the nuggets and lakers? it's like a game of one-upsmanship out there. i think vujacic is the leader in the clubhouse with his foul 1 second into a quarter (is that a record?) but nene isn't afraid to get himself into foul trouble game after game with over the backs and reaches he has no business doing. and ariza and walton love themselves a stupid foul 40 feet from the bucket. and just take farmar and fisher out back and shoot them and let shannon brown play all 48 minutes, even if he's no good. in 2 minutes farmar manages to turn an open 3 into a travel, then get a technical on top of it, and turn it over on a fastbreak. great work, champ.
Just like Melo, Nene has done zippo since the 1st quarter. Dumb foul. This game is tailor made for Kobe to take over and win for the Lakers. He is the only one on either team playing worth a dime. I wonder if he will have the energy.
it's almost astonishing how lazy the lakers are in transition defense. how does billups get a 1 on 1 fastbreak out of a missed inside shot? a long rebound is one thing, a rebound that had to be secured for a second off a 2 foot hook shot? everyone just jogs back instead of actually getting down the court to set up the D. ridiculous. between that and all the "fake hustle" fouls 40 feet from the basket to get in the penalty early (by both teams) it just makes me appreciate the rockets D so much. it's going to be painful when our little era of really good defense eventually comes to an end and i have to watch stuff like this all the time.
