Come on now man.....tonight isn't the night to cry about the fouls if you are a LA fan. They got the majority of the calls, and it wasn't even close.
How many travels did Kobe get away with down the the stretch? I counted two. One of which the Lakers scored immediately after.
IMO, Fisher has been overrated by some his entire career. Right now he's clearly over the hill and I can't blame him for that. He killed the Lakers tonight. Brutal.
What's the Lakers cap situation? They will go HARD at Artest especially if they fail against Denver. They need someone who could guard Melo. Too bad they're getting the wrong defender from Houston.
I wasn't counting the travels, but one thing I do notice is the refs allow the Lakers to use their height/length advantage to foul all the damn time. I see constant over the backs and hacking when they create turnovers. Too many times I see a dude get a board and they let a laker foul the crap out of him to force a turnover at their own end. I swear I'm watching them play against Yao or something.
Billups pass on Kobe's back for score. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LdHC-jbE1-g&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LdHC-jbE1-g&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
actually, i don't really have anything against any of the 4 teams left, which is extremely rare. i'm rooting for the lakers, and thus rooting strongly for them b/c that's just how i am. in order i'd like to see LA, CLE, ORL, and DEN win the title but since it's not the spurs, celtics, or suns, i'll pretty much be happy for any of the teams.
is that why the nuggets had 39 ft's to the lakers 37? it's a tie if you take out the purpose foul on billups. and hard to argue every late iffy call was for the nuggets. i'm not sure where these 2 kobe travels were. he spun and got hit and lost the ball and picked it back up which isn't a travel and then split a double team, had the ball knocked away and picked it back up, which isn't a travel (that was the play he hit the 3 right after i think).
the way your favorite yellow-wearing thugs were playing, it should've been 60 to 37.. heck, not even that, 60 to 20 considering all the B.S calls Gasol got.. Oh, and did I mention the cheap "reach in" fouls that Denver got whistled for? Did you hear George Karl during that time out? he said "just because you're not getting the calls doesn't mean you stop driving to the basket".. and that's exactly what happened, the Nuggets started shying away from driving because they couldn't get a call to save their lives, and that's how the Lakers jumped on them in the first half. Good thing the Nuggets were resilient and came back despite playing 5 against 8..
