They have to defend well in the 4th too,the Lakers aren't as good as Denver in the open court, but if you don't try to slow them you are likely to lose.
Wow Shannon Brown plays well. It's rare to see a 3rd string PG stepping up in an important playoff game in the Conference Finals.
Why is it that the three Lakers I like and would want on my team the most (Gasol, Ariza, Brown) are all players that are either good by accident or a product of trades that shouldn't have happened? Seriously, Shannon Brown was a throw-in and I swear the Lakers trading Cook/Mo Evans to get Ariza was a cost cutting move on their part. Then, you factor in the Gasol "trade" that took the Lakers from 42 wins and first round fodder to the best team in the conference. Yeah, it's just enough to make you sick.
Mark Jackson is tripping. both of Kobe's 3 pointers were not contested. Kobe rose up, but Melo stayed on his feet and didn't move his hands. If that's good defense, I can play good defense on Kobe. But Kobe is the best closer in game, bar none.
how many calls can the nuggets get? slap kobe on the spin, no call, loose ball foul on melo on that last offensive rebound, no call, billups just running into gasol and falling down, quick whistle. i mean crap, they get free throws on everything. but j.r. smith body blocks luke walton on a drive and it's play on. even after that iffy nene blocking foul the very next play nene just jumped into 2 lakers and lost the ball and got free throws so just about the only lakers call was evened out immediately.
The refs are definitely letting them play. Well, besides that dive by Billups that was whistled as a touch foul on Gasol. We've seen Kobe get away with two travels, K-Mart toss Gasol into the 3rd row and Melo destroying everybody underneath the basket.
Why does Mark Jackson keep saying Melo's playing good defense? His hand isn't even in Kobe's face when he's shooting. Putting your hand in front of a guy's face is great and all, but if you're going to do it, make sure you're doing when he's actually taking the shot.
geez, billups throws the ball into the middle of i think all 5 lakers (may have just been 4) and it somehow goes right through fisher's hands and leads to a layup.
Monster lay in by K-Mart off the pass from Nene. Nuggets regain the lead. Now, i'm normally not a fan of double teaming a jump shooter but Kobe's clearly in one of his "It doesn't matter what you do, i'm not missing" modes. If i'm George Karl i'm sending an immediate double the moment he touches the ball. Classic, make-one-of-these-other-guys-beat-you moments.
