Took your advice and rewatched the play again. Initially I thought it was just a jersey yank. After watching it came to the simple conclusion, U need to take your gsw glasses off bro. He already intentionally hard swiped at Clarke with his right hand to prevent the ez bucket which is already a foul in itself. When that failed to prevent the player from scoring he used his left hand to yank the jersey near the neck area in mid air that's a dirty as fk move. Basically a horse collar take down. But he soften the landing so he's not dirty as fk? Get that garbage take out-of here. He showed no remorse to endangering a player and flipped off the crowd. Dirty ass player. Couple with prior incidents of nut shots and eye poke. Safe to say green is a dirty ass player who intentionally tried to hurt a player once more.
First, I'm not a GSW fan. Second, if you don't know what a horse-collar tackle is, you shouldn't use it in a comparison. Third, where did I ever say Draymond Green wasn't a dirty player? I said it was a reckless foul worthy of a F2, but I didn't see an intent to hurt Clarke. Fourth, it's a stretch to say Clarke was "endangered". Remember, he jumped from a stationary position, and Green pulled up on the jersey to lessen the force of the fall.
he first pulled him down and only pulled him up pro forma, almost when the fall was over, not to save him from the fall just to make harder on the refs to punish him ..its was kinda a fake save... i agree he didnt try to injure him but to intimidate him so that it would be harder for him to concentrate on hitting shots next time when dray is in his vicinity
Flagrant fouls always just benefit the smaller players in the league. If Draymond woulda done that to someone GP3's size no one woulda be talking about what Brooks did. Brooks just happened to be bigger and our weight the guy he hit by a large margin. Draymond did it to a center who's built like a tank. I still think Draymond foul was worse. Considering he did two fouls that are unnecessary. Difference is it just doesn't look as bad cuz the player was bigger. Like how do you flagrant fouls Shaq?
You would be wrong. Clarke had jumped from a stationary position. Draymond Green was in a stationary position, and he grabbed Clarke from the front. And if Draymond had hit someone smaller, they wouldn't have been able to attempt to make the basket which means the jersey pull would've never happened. So the point is moot. Gary Payton was airborne, both he and Brooks were moving at full speed, and Payton got hit on the side/back of the head. It's not even remotely close.
I dunno I watch the brooks play over and he's trying to block the shot. It's unfortunate how the play ended. I don't see intent. I see Draymond pulling a guy down on purpose. That's the difference. The initial swing to the face by Draymond was bad enough. The second part was just a dirty play.
Are people still debating the Dillon Brooks foul/suspension? Even Memphis media member and the ringer podcaster Chris Vernon said on the Lowe Post the other day that he thought a flagrant 2 + suspension was warranted and expected.
He's not trying to block the shot. First of all, given the angle Brooks took, Payton's head was clearly in the way. Secondly, look at Brooks' "jump". He barely got off the ground. That's not going to block anything.
No point in nick picking. You can see it your way. I think he underestimated Payton's athleticism and he went for a quick swipe but just drilled him in the head. Anyway you look at it. It's still more of a basketball play than what Draymond did. I don't know how you can argue that. The play was blown dead already and he decided to pull the dude down by his jersey. Dirty play.
Not sure how you want me to respond to this. Neither Clarke nor Green knew the play had been blown dead. And no, Dillon Brooks didn't make a basketball play. He was clearly beat, and he was already running at full speed. He was so out of control that he couldn't even gather himself for a proper jump which means he had ZERO chance at blocking the shot. And based on the angle he took, the only way he'd be able to get his hand on the ball is if his arm went through Payton's head. You should probably watch the replays a few more times.
For phoenix, they ran a story about Chris Paul putting an internal curfew in the playoffs. Room with cards and another room for TV, so the guys don't go out.
