THere were only 2 contracts that were worse - the Rockets managed to acquire both in a 12 month span. That said, Chris Paul had his worst ever season in 2019 in terms of both productivity, and was only able to make 50 games in 2019 and 2018. His resurgence didn't seem likely (and the fact that he's already playing hurt this year in the playoffs after 2 games seems like a bad omen going forward).
apparently his worst ever season, and they traded him with picks for even worse players and worse deals. makes sense funny how even dwight howard got 3 years with harden but thanks to the worst owner in the league, he destroys the franchise after just the 2nd year of pairing, even after being gifted the best backcourt in the league and they still would be today
Crazy the media is scapegoating shroder but he looked like the only one even trying out there for the lakers
He's a good player. Some team is going to get a bargain reclamation project next season. His problem was that he scored 0 in G5, was less efficient in the playoffs, and, more importantly for those scapegoating him, he stood up to LeBron and the Lakers. Also, his personality would have fit in better in like the 90s. He's what Lillard thinks he is, too solid for this era.
“Drummond is an archaic archetype, one that doesn’t translate well to the postseason as a starter,” wrote Jovan Buha of The Athletic. “The Lakers pumped him up all season only to bench him in their biggest game of the season. His future is somewhat tied to [Marc] Gasol and [Montrezl] Harrell, both of whom will be covered below. But unless he’s willing to accept a veteran minimum offer, or one of the Lakers’ available exceptions, depending on who they renounce and re-sign, Drummond will likely be elsewhere on opening night 2021.”
CP3 is back with a bang. He is the true leader along with Booker of the resurgent Suns. They continue to amaze everyone. They have a good chance at upsetting Denver. Good luck to Chris Paul from me.
I am sure that is how the Lakers pitched his future with the team to him when they convinced him to sign with them. Sign here, you'll play with goat James and your stock will soar to vet min heights. I still think he could have been an important player in a frontline with Davis and LeBron. He played alright with them. Though I suppose anybody could.
